Cold Wallet, from Well Go USA Entertainment, brings to the screen the story of desperate revenge when a down-on-his-luck dad, hoping to reunite with his daughter, loses his life savings in a crypto currency scam.
The film begins with Billy, played by Raul Castillo, explaining that TPX, the Bit Coin stock company owned by Charles Hegel, played by Josh Brener, is the next Game Stop, it's a sure thing, and he talks his best friend, Dom, played by Tony Cavalero, to invest his life savings in it as well, and since he took a loan out to buy a boxing gym, he agreed.

On Christmas morning, and like anyone who has investments, he checks the value. Only this morning, his TPX account has been frozen, and when he talks to Dom, he is told he owes more money that he originally invested.
Billy, who is separated from his wife, takes a Christmas gift to his daughter, Steph, played by Joanna Sylvie Weinig, and his ex-wife comes unglued on him, in front of their daughter. He has been promising her they will have a house soon, where she can come and stay.
Once the news announces that Charles Hegel is dead, and every investor that trusted him with their hard-earned money is out of luck, Billy takes to Reddit to find other disgruntled investors to help him figure out what to do. He meets Eva, played by Melonie Diaz, online and decides to meet up with her. So, he brings Dom, and she explains that Charles is alive, hold up in his mansion and she outlines a simple plan, break in, get the cold wallet where the pass keys are stored, access the accounts and get our money back.

Once the trio decides on their plan, the simplicity of it in their mind, does not account for the mind set of a technology CEO or the traps he has set to maintain his privacy. They decide on using the food delivery ruse, simply knocking on the door, and then rushing him. As the door, they meet the Groundskeeper, played by Nigel Gore, who clearly explains there is no one at home, and this is the wrong address.
They find a way into the house, which has a state-of-the-art security system, with a loop audio that sounds like a scary person, and they finally get Charles to come out of hiding. Once they try to bully the cold wallet storage from him, he taps dances around them explaining intricacies that do not exist.
Finally, Eva calls her tech friend who explains to break through the security firewalls, it could take months. Meanwhile, Charles overhears everything, and he is manipulating each of them by engaging in conversations and pecking away at their bravery, confidence, and determination, until he gets them to turn on each other.

By this time, they have secured a few small victories, and now, they wait. Charles, whose hands are bound with duct tape, and chained to the chair, knocks over a vase, and uses a piece to cut through the tape. Once he is free, he begins to hunt them.
Forgetting that every transaction on the dead/not dead tech entrepreneur is monitored by the FBI, Eva has been making transfers, and her tech friend sends her a text explaining that the FBI is on the way to the house get out now. She tries to leave and encounters a freed, armed, Charles.
This sets up the third and surprising conclusion. The ensemble delivers believable performances and the theme, social media misfits turned vigilantes determined to kidnap the criminal tech kingpin and release the money to every investor who trusted him, holds the attention throughout, as we hope for the cheated citizen to win over the powerful tech giant.
Cold Wallet poses the ultimate question: Is crime ever justifiable?
Gripping, Cold Wallet is a thrilling, suspenseful game of chase, with sudden surprises, and an unexpected ending. See it.
