Idaho College Murders: Police Arrest Suspect

A suspect was arrested in Pennsylvania for the brutal quadruple slaying of four Idaho college students, nearly seven weeks ago, who were found murdered while they were sleeping in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho.
Authorities announced they have arrested Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, from Monroe County Pennsylvania, in the Pocono Mountains, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, early Friday morning. Based on a warrant issued in Moscow, Idaho, Kohberger was arrested and held for extradition. He appeared before a local magistrate on Friday.
Idaho College Murders: No Suspects, No Weapon, No Motive
Seven weeks have passed since Moscow police discovered the grisly murder of four University of Idaho students, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.
In a case that has captivated the nation, authorities said, after vetting more than 10,000 tips they were able to piece together enough of the puzzle that included the white Hyundai Elantra, caught on convenience store surveillance camera, and knew who they were looking for and tracked him to the Pennsylvania. The automobile, which was also found at the home of the suspect, was towed from the home and impounded.
As the investigation into the University of Idaho quadruple homicide intensified local, state, and federal officers pieced together a timeline aided by digital and physical forensics and did not appear to be any closer to finding the killer.

The information released by the detectives indicated, "On the evening of Nov. 12, the two surviving roommates were out of the house, and they returned at approximately 1 a.m. on Nov. 13. They did not wake up until later that day," CBS affiliate KREM 2 reported.
The four University of Idaho students were repeatedly stabbed with a long knife, and there were defensive wounds on at least two of the victims, indicating they fought back. None of the victims were sexually assaulted. The physical forensics were never released to the public, although police have said it was a chaotic scene and the killer or killers attacked the students while they slept.
"Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt also told NewsNation each victim suffered multiple stab wounds from a "pretty large knife." "It has to be somebody pretty angry in order to stab four people to death," Mabbutt told NewsNation. The victims were stabbed in the chest and upper body, the coroner said," KMVT.com reported.
Cold Case Murder Solved after 50 Years
The murders have drawn national attention with well-known criminal profilers weighing in with expert suggestions as to why the authorities were less than forthcoming with information on the physical state of the victims, injuries sustained, the state of the investigation, and an overview of the meaning behind information blackout.
"The suspect is a [Criminal Justice] graduate student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, according to FOX News digital, citing the college's website. Pullman is about a 15-minute drive from the rental home where the four students were stabbed to death," reported Fox5 Atlanta.
According to social media, Kohberger, also attended Northampton Community College, and made the Dean's List in the Spring 2018 semester. His merit page, stated he was a member of Psi Beta and graduated with an Associates in Liberal Arts majoring in Psychology.
Local authorities have stated they will hold a press conference at 1:00pm PST which will be lived streamed. Once the suspect returns to Idaho, he will be held without bond due to the brutality of the crimes and if he cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed.
