Paris Fashion Week: Ziad Nakad, Spring/Summer 2019 Collection – Dazzling, Sexy, Ultra Glamorous

The Spring Summer 2019 Haute Couture collection from Ziad Nakad magically transforms into a constellation of delicate, bold, intoxicating, evening gowns, with gleaming silvers and shimmering gold patterns blending celestial designs with starry night patterns.

The theme of the collection, Vintage Goddesses, expressions of spring evenings with an array of vibrant collection of celestial designs in pastel colors, blues, pink champagne, silver and black shades trimmed in a range of articulations.

The dresses, like a star filled night sky adorned with diamond dust onto bare fabric, sparkle with thousands of tiny stone cuts.

A dazzling display each dress is uniquely designed even as some patterns appear to repeat, the stone and bead work symbolizes scattered moondust and glittery, twinkling movement with sparkling flickers. The dresses once a blank fabric slate becomes a lusterous blanket encapulating the vision of Orien. 

The designer, Zaid Nakad utilized ostrich feathers, ruffles, embroideries, focused stones cut, flowy cuts to extravagant cuts, delicate beaded work, accentuating the gowns with waterfall sleeves, matching beaded wrist cuffs, asymmetric, sweetheart, decollete and plunging necklines with ring band and ruffled funnel collars.

 

As the entire haute couture collection of gowns are full floor length the design of each range from full bell style ball gowns to column and mermaid designs.

The collection also includes fitted bodices with tiered layers of feathers, veiled sheer designs, sexy twin splits, ball gowns with slight pulls gathered at thigh level for subtle sensuality.


Born of a Lebanese descent, Ziad Nakad knew from his very early teens that he was to work in fashion.

 

Since his young years, he was attracted by eccentric fabrics, sheer embroideries and unconventional beadings which married his designs back then especially sketched for his family to wear.

 

Encouraged by this genuine success, the talented young man decided to explore more his passion for fashion and embrace the dressmaking art with studies in the field.

In parallel, he mastered the art of haute couture by working with many famous fashion designers in Beirut.

 

In 1997, he turned his dream into a career when he was invited to take part to the Beirut International Fashion Show for Haute Couture in Beirut and dressed renowned super models like Karen Mudler, NadjaUrman and Jennifer Driver.

His first fashion shows garnered much praise from critics and opened the doors to a whirling series of defiles sparking international interest for the designer.
