Beltway Insider: Obama/G20/China/Brexit; Election 2016: FP Fells Both; Mother Teresa; OK Quake; Jacob Wetterling

President Obama waxed a bit nostalgic during his announcement of the historic Paris Climate Agreement during the G20 reflecting on his reasons for entering into political life and now as the exit draws nigh the realization of effort is magnified.

According to Gallup, President Obama's job approval, over the past week, decreased by two percentage points to 52% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness as President increased one percentage points to 44%.

President Obama Meets with The G20

President Obama engaged in several bilateral meetings during the recent G20 Summit in China. The leaders of Turkey, President Erdogan, the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Theresa May, President Xi Jinping each spoke with President Obama and joined in in addressing the press.

As this is the last G20 Summit President Obama will attend the new leaders or the world stepping into a stronger and more unified free world will face the challenges with coalitions of nations that came together during a global collapse and worked for one single goal, the betterment of society and humanity.

Finalizing the US and China Paris Climate Agreement

The final G20 for President Obama began with the finality of a hard won and equally hard fought battle to have the two largest violators of Global emissions of greenhouse gases, China and the United States, together represent 40% of greenhouse gas emission, come to a unified agreement.

The terms of the historic Paris Agreement would have each reduce the release of carbon output in an effort to reduce the overall effects of global warming and effectively reduce the earth temperature 1.5 degrees annually.

To date 175 nations have joined in the effort to address global warming, reduce carbon emission and rationally, with thought, work to reduce the earth’s temperature. While some of these nations represent 0.0% of the earth’s global greenhouse gas emission, global warming effects every nation, in every country, throughout the world.

As of September 2016, 180 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change members have signed the treaty, 26 of which have ratified it, which is not enough for the treaty to enter into force. The ratification of the Agreement, meaning isn’t enforceable, unless 55% of the Nations sign.

Reach out to all, petition leaders in every nation.

As simply as think of the species that will become extinct, soon, unless this effort is ratified, globally. Icecaps will melt, the cycles of life from fishing, whaling and humans who depend on weather patterns, yes even Polar Bears, who are close to becoming endangered now.

PM May Defines Brexit Not Exit Strategy

During the bilateral Press Conference President Obama, who opposed the Brexit, and Prime Minister Theresa May who, assumed the leadership role after David Cameron shocked the world with his immediate resignation, voted for Brexit, defined the controversial vote with finality.

"Brexit does indeed mean Brexit.  On the 23rd of June, the people in the UK voted for the UK to leave the European Union.  The government respects that decision.  We respect the wishes of the people, and we will put that into practice.  So there will be no second referendum, no attempt to turn the clock back, no attempt to try and get out of this.  The UK will be leaving the European Union," said the Prime Minister.

The two allies, each reiterating the strength of the special relations the two nations shared walked lightly around the trade relationship and upcoming changes in government which might disrupt, damage or change the strength of the partnerships the two nations share.

Defining the Next PM Role

Prime Minister May made it clear there are many issues facing the United Kingdom that only by extension effect the United States, the on the ground threat by Daesh, the immigration crisis, and as allies and the strongest of partners the U.S. remains committed to assisting the U.K. as the navigate the changes.

"We focused on Brexit, Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, the process now and what Brexit means for the UK’s relationships with our European friends, but with other countries, too.  The UK has always been a strong partner for the U.S., and that will remain the case.  We have a thriving economic relationship.  British businesses export twice as much to the United States as they do to our next-largest market, and the United States is the largest inward investor in Britain, with total American investments providing more than one million jobs," the Prime Minister said.

Election 2016: The Syrian Debacle Fells both Presidential Candidates

The 2016 Presidential Election, which Democrat Hillary R. Clinton and Republican Donald J. Trump are both pounding the pavement stumping across America and internationally presenting their qualifications, strategies and plans for a better America when they are elected.

Foreign Policy, an overriding theme throughout the Obama Administration is presenting itself as the most difficult challenge each of the candidates face as they present their presidential agendas.

The most recent pictures of bloodied, shell shocked children, did little to loosen the heartstrings or for that matter the political point of views of the two presidential candidates each of which have flat-lined in their presentation of an exit strategy or a peaceful resolution to the Syrian situation.

The original directives, presented by the Obama Administration over the last six years, of the Syrian Operation that the United States has underwritten to the tune of billions of taxpayers dollars is no longer viable even in current ceasefire negotiations.

Supporting our allies in the region, Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Israel and now by extension those nations who are bloated with refugees and immigrants by throwing money at the situation is understandable and quite possibly an underlying cause of the extended and increased war operations.

Our obligation remains to our European Allies and to the extent of Humanitarian Aid, our partners supporting those Syrians who determine a better life, and the possibility of surviving tomorrow, is better served in a different location.

The United Nations, at the upcoming General Assembly, must address the Syrian Issue as a global humanitarian crisis, and only through leadership from the G7 first, then the G20, can the Humanitarian Crisis end.

With the Russians, who are now militarily supporting Assad, suspended from the leadership meetings at the G7 (G8 should Russia be reinstated) which would be a condition for Russian withdraw from Syria without full restoration of the Ukraine, the only course of action for the world leaders is the United Nations.

Politically, Bashar Al Assad has frequently and over the course of the last six years show clear disregard for the welfare of his citizens, and violated proliferation treaties and agreements using chemical weapons on the citizens of Damascus and throughout the region.

The United Nations, as no single world leader is capable of forcing Assad to transfer power, must step into this crisis and make the determinations that allow the G7 leaders to move military ending his reign.

Mother Teresa to be Sainted by Catholic Church

Mother Teresa, who lived her life in the slums of Calcutta India, serving the poor, downtrodden, diseased, abandoned, forgotten and disenfranchised, will be honored by order of Pope Francis at the Vatican, in Vatican City, Italy.

A world changer, Mother Teresa, Saint of the Gutters, began her ministry in 1948, with limited knowledge, a big vision and faith, she ventured out into the slums. The reality of life for the poor and disenfranchised weighed heavy on the petite nun, wholly devoted to her calling.

Talking the talk of assisting the poor soon meet the grim reality of walking the walk. Mother Teresa wrote in her diary the early days were difficult, writing in her diary:

"Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross. Today, I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so hard for them. While looking for a home I walked and walked till my arms and legs ached. I thought how much they must ache in body and soul, looking for a home, food and health. Then, the comfort of Loreto [her former congregation] came to tempt me. 'You have only to say the word and all that will be yours again,' the Tempter kept on saying ... Of free choice, my God, and out of love for you, I desire to remain and do whatever be your Holy will in my regard. I did not let a single tear come."

Soon what began as a small seed planted in faith by a diminutive, doubtful, believer grew to more than 4000 sisters operating an outreach that welcomed all, the lowly, the orphaned, the diseased. Those shunned from society, in more than 100 countries.

Mother Teresa attracted the attention of world leaders and those burdened by the deepening despair felt globally, none more so than Diana, Princess of Wales. The two formed an unlikely friendship based on mutual respect and Princess Diana’s devotion to the world’s poor.

Oklahoma Earthquake Did More that Shake, Rattle and Roll

A shallow slip earthquake registering 5.6 on the Richter Scale struck just north of Pawnee, Oklahoma, in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 3, 2016 shaking residents awake, rolling across the neighboring six states and rattling nerves.

The epicenter some 15KM north of Pawnee, a Chickasaw Indian town, was felt in Norman, Oklahoma, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Springfield, Missouri, Des Moines, Iowa, Memphis, Tennessee and as far away south as Dallas, Texas and Gilbert, Arizona to the west.

The 6.5KM depth of the second largest quake in the Sooner State jerked and jolted picture frames off the walls, dishes and knickknacks off shelves and boxed goods tumbled from shelves in several local grocery stores.

In addition to the home damage the tumbler resulted in surface infrastructure damage with minor reports of broken glass and falling structural debris and minimal infrastructure cracks which has not received a total assessment.

The severest damage reported has been from the Gas and Oil industry which immediately shut off wells in the area until the extent of the damage can be determined.

Residents were warned of considerable aftershocks which followed throughout the day, Saturday and into Sunday with the largest measuring a 3.2 on the Richter scale.

Remains of Jacob Wetterling Found

The remains of Jacob Wetterling, 11, of St. Joseph, Minnesota who had been kidnapped, at gunpoint in 1989, while riding home from a convenience store with two friends, have been found after the primary person of interest provided information which led authorities to the boy’s grave.

Patty and Jerry Wetterling, Jacob’s parents responded on the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center Facebook Page, stating, "We are in deep grief. We didn’t want Jacob’s story to end this way. In this moment of pain and shock, we go back to the beginning. Our hearts are heavy, but we are being held up by all of the people who have been a part of making Jacob’s Hope a light that will never be extinguished. It shines on in a different way. We are, and we will continue to be, Jacob’s Hope. Jacob, you are loved."

Jacob, his brother Trevor, 10, and a friend Aaron Larson, 11, on the evening of October 22, 1989, were riding home on bicycles at around 9:00pm, when a shadowy figure with a gun approached the boys. They were held at gunpoint ordered to throw their bike in the ditch and to lie face down in the dirt where he proceeded to eliminate the other two. Both were ordered to run for their lives and not look back or they would be shot. Jacob was never seen alive again.

The Stearns County Sheriff released the following statement: "The Stearns CountySheriff’s Office today confirms that Jacob Wetterling’s remains have been located. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner and a forensic odontologist identified the remains. Additional DNA testing will be performed."

The statement went on to add the more information will be released early in the following week.

After 27 years, Daniel Heinrich, who had been arrested on Child Pornography in his possession, a was named as the primary person of interest in the Wetterling case. When pressed he decided to cooperate and provided information leading authorities to the farm where Jacob’s remains were found in a shallow grave.
