Buzzies, a micro pulsating handheld devices, are making new waves in the psychological field as a non-invasive treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and other extreme stress conditions brought on by traumas.

Having the recent opportunity to meet the founders, Dr. Amy Serin and Vicki Mayo of Buzzies, and participate in a micro-demonstration I was able to experience the global sensation personally.

Dr. Amy Serin, who holds a doctoral degree from California's Fielding Graduate University, in Santa Barbara and opened the Serin Institute for the study of applied neuroscience and therapy which lead to the discovery that pulsating waves alternating actually assisted her patients in recovery.

Officially introduced in psychological fields as BLAST, Bi-Lateral Alternating Stimulation, Dr. Serin in clinical studies found, the BLAST technique could provide standalone treatment without the need for chemicals or "psyche meds."

Armed with information, and a determined belief, Dr. Serin, approached longtime friend and entrepreneur Vicki Mayo, bringing the Sedona resident and former Chief Transformation Officer and Deputy Assistant Director of the Department of Economic Security, on as co-founder and business maven.

Ms. Mayo, who was also a child advocate for the State of Arizona, had a keen interest in the possibilities her friend described, as her daughter suffered from night terrors which interrupted her from sleeping through the night. After applying the wearable as instructed the night terrors stopped and Ms. Mayo was won over.

Together the two created The Touchpoint Solution, a wearable technology that provides better living through neuroscience.

Buzzies are small black squares and having the opportunity to participate in a demonstration, the idea is to place the black squares, which can be used at pre-programmed settings or programmed for individual needs, in the palm of the hand and close the hand around the device.

For the purpose of the demonstration and without a diagnosis or honestly any length of time with Dr. Serin, it was a micro demo, she indicated I should think of the most stressful situation I had in my life. That part was easy.

So she explained, as she activated the app which initiated the BLAST technique and small short buzz waves alternating between hands, I should be feeling less stressed, which was true.

I feel it is important to point out the idea behind pulsating therapy is not new to these women and they have found a way to market the proven treatment and upgrade it. As the handhelds are attractively created, contemporary, sleek, black squares. They are non-invasive and can be held while driving to counter road rage. Wristbands are sold separately and the units can be placed in the bands, out of sight, and provide the stress relief many seek.

Buzzies use the BLAST Technology, the non-invasive alternating vibrations to override the body's fight, flight or freeze (F3) response to stress and anxiety. The F3 system depletes the body of energy, mental strength, and overall quality of life. When the F3 system is activated, all non-essential functions in the body shut down, such as logic and reason, and BLAST is designed to restore homeostatic nervous system functioning which allows the user to think clearly and experience calmness.

The mission statement of the Touchpoint Solution is to bring relief to the millions of people who suffer from stress and anxiety, PSTD, as well as CEO, parents and first responders so they can be their best selves while making it affordable to those what can afford it and accessible to those who can't.

The Buzzie technology is patent pending and is used to relieve stress, anxiety, improve focus, reduce cravings, improve performance, manage anger, reduce sensory overload, and better enable sleep. It can be worn on both wrists or placed in more discrete locations, such as socks, pockets and needs to be worn on both sides of the body to be effective.

The two friends, Dr. Amy Serin and Vicki May, launched Buzzies in December 2016, and in less than six weeks sold over $500,000. in product globally.

Without a medical or psychological need for therapy, the Touchpoint System, is a great stress reducer. The micro-demonstration created a calm wave, for some the small amount of time wouldn't be sufficient for the therapy to be effective. For me, it worked. And for others, many worldwide, the system is a safe, non-invasive alternative for prescribed medicines and aids in healing, management of PTSD and aggressive stress triggers, flare ups, coping and emotional maintenance.
