UPDATED: Terrorist Shot Dead in France Supermarket Attack

Authorities stormed the Super U grocery store in Trebes, France, a small town in the South, where an Islamic State loyalist had been holed up demanding release of one of the collaborators of the October 2015 attacks, killing him.  

The gunman killed three during his takeover of the Super U supermarket chain. Earlier reports of at least a dozen injuries have increased to 16 injured ranging from minor to serious and including those who sustained while attempting to hide or escape or shock.

What is being called two separate incidents unfolded early in France beginning with a group of five police officers being fired upon as they were jogging in the town of Carcassone.

In the town of Trebes, a short 15minute drive away, one gunman walked into the supermarket, shouted “Allahu Akbar” which translates to “God is Great,” opened fire and took hostages.

Anti-terror forces arrived quickl surrounding the store and establishing communications with the gunman. Police have been attempting to negotiate a peaceful resolution to no avail.

Reports are sketchy and APF, the official news agency of France as well as Fox News has indicated multiple injuries, possibly a dozen or more, and two deaths.

The gunman allegedly demanded the release of Salah Abdeslam, one of the men who planned the deadly 2015 Paris terror attacks.

“The suspect also reportedly said "he is ready to die for Syria" and demanded Abdeslam be released from custody. Abdeslam is the lone surviving member of an ISIS terror cell behind the deadly 2015 attacks in Paris that killed 130 people at a theatre, the national stadium and cafes,” FOX News Reported.

A memorial service was just underway at the time of the attack commemorating the Toulouse School killings an attack which occurred six years ago. An heavily armed, with guns and grenades, fanaticized young youth entered a Jewish school and where three Jewish schoolchildren were murdered and an instructor injured. The massacre marked the beginning of modern French terrorism.
