Holiday Gift Guide Round Up 2016 – Sure To Please Specialty Gifts

  • Print

The Gift Giving review season began recently on a warm, gorgeously sunny California afternoon at the beautiful ocean front Le Merigot JW Marriott in Santa Monica where a dozen high end specialty retailers participated in a one-day product introduction.

Consumer Products Event sponsored the day gathering the media and elite retailers who top the list of luxury specialty retailers from Josh Johnson of HGTV's "Sparkle Josh" to "Just Jan's," a delicious brand of epicurean gourmet curds, spreads, exotic jams and jellies.

The event also featured a variety of new wave technology accessories from Thinium, the world's thinnest, and most innovative phone wall charger I've ever seen.

Switchmate, a simple, easy to use light switch powered by a phone app that brightens any darkened room before entry, and of course the wildly popular and celebrity endorsed Wildflower phone cases endorsed by wildly popular and successful it-girls who encourage the world's girls and young women to engage in building the branding.

The holidays revolve around parties, family gatherings and suddenly social events for the screen crowd can produce a year of cringe moments as the haplessly unsociable and happily anti-social are suddenly tasked with human interaction.

Personalogy, piloted at a Microsoft Technology conference has been named one of Amazon's top 100 card games of 2015 and made its public debut at the recent Consumer Product Event.

Books are also a large part of Holiday Gift Giving and there are no better books to give than those with a greater message and present a bigger world.

Children's author Debra L. Wideroe, a Harvard Educated University professor has introduced an exciting new character Camellia, in the illustrated "The Adventures of Camellia N.," an exploration easy, bed-time, story-time read that allows children an introduction to the world's oceans, endangered species and involvement through fun, engaging characters. From the Arctic to Under the Sea, our pint sized explorer travels the world learning of the world's most endangered, beautiful, environmentally challenged and ecological diverse worlds. A must for any child's library.

Fashion, Art and Exotic Specialty health drinks round out any holiday gift giving and festive season.

Our fashion expert Deborah Lindquist, an eco-friendly, celebrity designer, who has dressed clients from Rihanna to Pink and name the names, showcases her recycled cashmere accessories, rescued and recycled leathers. Deborah's designs have been loaned for editorial review and celebrity placement on many magazine covers as her earth friendly, bespoke, made in the U.S.A line speaks to our environment friendly dedications.

Colleen Stratton, a unique and gifted artist, has taken learning to a new level as she developed a specialty alphabet series featuring Gaelic "guardian spirit" fantasy animal letters that can be customized spelling out names or inspirational phrases. Her prints are beautiful and tastefully decorative a unique addition to any room where a child's imagination is nurtured.

Japanese expert Chef Eric Gower also introduced a trendy specialty health drink he created who plans to do what expresso did for coffee Breakaway Matcha is the response to an artisanal demand for the ancient Japanese anti-oxidant powered tea. Chef Gower, who spent a decade in Japan, developed the specialty line of Matcha Teas each producing a unique drinking experience.

Josh Johnson, the HGTV design star, premiered his line of luxury home décor including furniture, and home accessories sparkly sheers, metallically embroidered solids curtains, and exotic highly decorative velvets and his signature "Sparklicious Pillows" sparkle pillows featured in multiple gifting suites.

Recently Josh's Softline Home Fashions have been featured at Gifting Suites for the Emmy's, Writer's Guild Awards, Image Awards and Tony Awards. His Josh Johnson Home Designs are nationally disturbed at Walmart, Wayfair, Bed, Bath and Beyond and Overstock.

Just Jan's, is the brainchild of former entertainment executive Jan Hogrewe turned epicurean and Fruit preserve specialty artist. Following along the storyline of Diane Keaton in Baby Boom, an overproducing Fig tree in Jan's backyard became first a source for contention and then a brilliant idea.

Soon she was preparing fig fruit spreads for family and friends and in true Hollywood fashion, a chance meeting resulted in a major San Francisco Hotelier loving her product line and featuring her specialty brands as the signature preserves provided in the luxury hotel.

Jan is gregarious and engaging. Warm, friendly and happy she wants the world to sample her delicious preserves (and they are). She has expanded from that simple overproducing fig tree and created an entire line of Fruits Spreads, jams, jellies, curds, marmalades and introduced a Tangerine Sriracha, savory with a nice kick.
