CosmoGirl! and NY/LA Model's Crown Next Fashion Princess

"So You Want To Be A Model" contest sponsored by New York/LA Model Management and Cosmo Girl! Magazine ended its national search for that new fresh face at a recent star-studded competition held at the trendy Manhattan hot spot Plumm.

The eleven beautiful teens, chosen from over 20,000 entries in the national model search, were flown to New York for a final chance at fashion stardom. Gregory James, President of ESB Productions, Inc., MasterCard, Borghese and Parasuco co-sponsored the competition. The girls ranged in age from thirteen to seventeen and represented a cross mix of Americana with regional winners from New Mexico, South Dakota, Louisiana, Kansas, Ohio, Florida, New York and New Jersey.

Amber Heard, fiancée of actor Johnny Depp, the contest's first winner was the Mistress of Ceremonies.  Joining her as event judges included Daniel Vosovic, a second season finalist, of Project Runway, CosmoGirl!, Editor-in-Chief Susan Schulz, Nicole Fiscella, supermodel Jaime Rishar and NY Model Management Director Cory Bautista. Also, judging were top New York casting agent, Linda Gottlieb, and ESB Productions, Inc., President, Gregory James.

Competing in a full runway show, the girls showed a variety of styles beginning with clothing provided by FROM and featured black Parasuco jeans and tanks. The next round was the premiere collection from Project Runway's Daniel Vosovic. This is where the show began to hit a high note. The girls were able to project, with ease, a seasoned run way look with clothing that matched a seasoned designer. It was real treat.  His collection was attractive and immediately wearable without the need for additional styling or alteration.

The collection moved from sport shorts to resort eveningwear. These soon to be launched upscale resort-wear fashions, included tight bodice dresses with pleated skirts, bibbed sporty casual dresses and lightweight cotton hoodies paired with denim skirts. The collection, available soon, will be featured at boutiques in partnership with Nylo Hotels and will hit the stores shortly.

At the end of the evening after the votes were tallied it was Megan Collins, a 5'9" stunner, from Louisiana, that was crowned the newest fashion princess for the 2007 "So You Want To Be A Model" Contest. As the grand prize winner she received a $75,000 modeling contract along with a half academic scholarship to The New York School of Film and Television. The first runner up, Lucy Petroucheva, of Kansas and second runner-up, Megan Logsdon, of Ohio, each received offers of modeling contracts with New York/LA Management.

Courtesy of The New York Film and Television school every finalist received a $750 scholarship. The NYFT judges were so impressed with the talent, that was evident in all the girls, that they awarded two additional scholarships: Megan Collins won a half scholarship and Brittany Martinez, from Texas, received a $1,000 scholarship. Megan Logsdon was the big winner walking away with a full scholarship. Each girl also walked away with a pair of Parasuco jeans.

CosmoGirl! and New York/LA Model Management will also feature each girl in an upcoming CosmoGirl! photo shoot that will gain them international exposure and put them well on their way to Fashion Stardom!

"We are very lucky to have had such amazing talent emerge from this competition and we are really looking forward to working with Megan," stated New York Model Management Director Cory Bautista.  "With so many beautiful, energetic, and talented young girls competing, it was extremely difficult to choose just one grand prize winner."

Guests were treated to gift bags filled with Borghese essentials including skin care cleansers and active mud mask for face and body plus the "Spring It On" mini-collection of eye, lip and cheek colors to update the active woman on the go. The collection featured a bronze blush, a combination of pink and rose colors for the lips, and a collection of four eye shadows in spring palette shades.
