The Superheroes are notified of the defection of one of their own who leaves the facility with a valuable scientific element, the equivalent of nuclear power. As the team readies for the ultimate battle of good versus evil Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) under the leadership of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Maria Hill,  (Cobie Smulders) summon all team members to active duty.

This leads to the four corners of the globe where one by one, the heroes are introduced.
