Tracy Morgan, 2 Passengers, Remain in Critical Condition

Actor and comedienne, Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition after the limo bus he and his companions were traveling in was crushed in a multi vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike that killed one and injured three others.

Morgan was returning to his Bergen County home when the crash occurred at approximately 1: 00 AM EST Friday after the driver of a Wal-Mart semi tractor trailer failed to adjust his speed to the traffic flow and swerved to avoid striking one car and slammed into the rear of the Mercedes SUV Mini bus carrying the celebrity and his guests.

Airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, Morgan remained in intensive care throughout the evening until his vitals could stabilize. He had multiple broken bones, including a broken leg and femur, broken ribs, a broken nose, cuts and contusions. He had no immediate need for surgery. He was heavily sedated. He survived the night and responded well to the operation on Sunday to repair his femur.

According to his publicist, Lewis Kay, Morgan is more responsive but will remain hospitalized for weeks.

Morgan best known for his role on "30 Rock" was also a comedic sketch artist on NBC's "Saturday Night Live." He was returning from stand up gig in Delaware.

Morgan's mentor and long time friend, Jimmy Mack was killed in the collision. The vehicle was rear-ended and according to police rotated several times before landing on its side. The driver of the bus escaped uninjured.

Two other passengers, Jeffrey Millea, of Shelton, Connecticut, and comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr. were also listed in critical condition. Harrison Stanton, also a comedienne, was treated and released.

A Wal-Mart truck driver, 35-year-old Kevin Roper, of Jonesboro, Georgia, from Georgia was charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.

No reports of drugs, alcohol or sleep deprivation have been mentioned as possible causes of the crash that caused the big rig  to smash into the back of the Mercedes limo bus, prompting a chain-reaction crash with a second tractor-trailer, an SUV and two cars.
