AFI FEST 2017 Presented By Audi Announces Sponsors And Cultural Partners; Free Tickets Available Online and at AT&T Box Office

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today the sponsors and cultural partners for AFI FEST 2017 presented by Audi, which takes place November 9-16 in Hollywood, CA, at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre and the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres.

Screenings will also take place at the Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre at the Egyptian, Dolby Cinema at the Vine, the Mark Goodson Screening Room at the American Film Institute and The Hollywood Roosevelt.

For the 14th consecutive year, Audi brings its visionary support to AFI FEST as the exclusive presenting sponsor, enabling the festival to host the very best of world cinema in Hollywood. Throughout AFI FEST, festival goers are encouraged to experience Audi's installation in the lobby of The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.


AFI FEST 2017 Presented By Audi Announces Dan Gilroy's Roman J. Israel, Esq. As Special Screening

The installation incorporates an AFI-produced PSA featuring women in film that spotlights the Audi Fellowship for Women, which was created earlier this year to support one female director and her entire two-year AFI Conservatory enrollment. Audi and their support of the festival reflect a continuing commitment to "Drive Progress" by fostering opportunities for equality in film and television.

Premium sponsors of the festival are AT&T and VIZIO, the official home theater sponsor of AFI. The AT&T Box Office is located at Hollywood & Highland, and VIZIO will be hosting many of the Tech Showcase panels and discussions at the VIZIO Lounge.

American Airlines, the official airline of AFI, and Dolby Laboratories are the festival's official sponsors. Festival sponsors include AMC Networks, BRICKTOWN, IMDbPRO, Lagunitas Brewing Company, LaMarca Prosecco, Netflix, Panavision and Participant Media.

This year, AFI FEST, Luce Cinecittà, the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles and IIC partner to celebrate "Cinema Italian Style," and will present a double bill of restored Michelangelo Antonioni films, which are emblematic of arthouse cinema in the 1960s: RED DESERT (1964) and BLOW-UP (1966). Both films screen on Monday, November 13, at the TCL Chinese Theatre. RED DESERT's DCP restoration was curated by CSC-Cineteca Nazionale and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, in collaboration with RTI-Mediaset. BLOW-UP's DCP restoration was curated by The Criterion Collection, Cineteca di Bologna and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, in collaboration with Warner Bros. and Park Circus.

The partners also present A CIAMBRA directed by Jonas Carpignano, Italy's official Academy Award®entry for Best Foreign Language Film. Carpignano's sophomore feature follows Pio, a streetwise teen in Calabria who must step up when his older brother lands in trouble with the police. A CIAMBRA will screen in AFI FEST's World Cinema section on Wednesday, November 15 before its gala opening at "Cinema Italian Style" on Thursday, November 16.
