UPDATE: Kate Middleton and Prince William Welcome Baby Number Three; Announce Name

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge announced the much anticipated name for Baby Number 3, His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

The surprise name, with only "Arthur" appearing in any of the insider possibilities, appears to be a tribute to various paternal and materal relatives.

"The name appears to be a reference to Lord Louis Mountbatten, an uncle of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and a second cousin to the Queen. His maternal grandfather was also called Prince Louis Alexander of Battenberg. Prince William’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis, while Prince George’s full name is George Alexander Louis. Including Charles also means both of the paternal grandparents names are represented, as Princess Charlotte’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana," reported news.com.au

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news," a second entry said.

The newest royal is Queen Elizabeth's sixth great grand-child and arrived days after her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday bash.

Baby boy Mountbatten-Windsor is the fifth in line to the throne following his two older siblings, his father, Prince William and his grandfather, Charles, Prince of Wales. Prince Harry, William's younger brother is now sixth in line for the throne.

It’s a Boy for Kate and Wills

Baby boy Mountbatten-Windsor arrived on schedule and just ahead of the wedding of his uncle, Prince Harry who will marry American actress Megan Markle this May.

As in her previous pregnancies, Kate suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness which severely effects the mother in the first 12 weeks of the pregnancy rendering her often too ill to maintain activities and commitments. As morning sickness curtails near the end of the first trimester Ms. Middleton returned to royal duties and engagements until March 22, 2018 when she went on maternity leave.
