The Pottos
Your Room
16 September 2016
EP: White Label Kafka
Lead Track (Single): Your Room
The Pottos are Colin Clegg and Misto Viscuso, a duo that work with a range of other musicians. School friends since the age of fifteen, Colin and Misto have played together under a number of guises, settling on The Pottos in 2012 when they released their first album 'Imaginary Monologues'. This was followed by an EP 'Borrowed Flag' last year, and 'White Label Kafka' EP released earlier this year. A record that is presented in full here and demonstrates the band's versatile approach to their songwriting and their keen ear for melody.
'White Label Kafka', produced by Creation Records co-founder Joe Foster, provides the band's new single 'Your Room', an energetic and melodic Indie-Pop track that carries all the hallmarks of Joe Foster's signature production style.
The band toured extensively throughout 2014 and 2015 sharing stages in Italy with the likes of Frontier Ruckus (USA), Ulan Bator (France), The Blue Lenas (UK). One of these Italian tours saw them accompanied by Foster who made an appearance at a Creation Nights Session, where he was interviewed about his stellar career in music against the backdrop of The Pottos live performance and the crowd's raucous reception.

Hands Off Gretel, founded by nineteen year old Lauren Tate are a force to be reckoned with. Inspired by the likes of Brody Dalle and Courtney Love, Lauren made it her mission to ensure strong, young women had a voice in today's music industry, presenting an alternative to mainstream pop stars singing about broken hearts. Lauren is a powerhouse of creativity; the band's frontwoman and songwriter, she also designs Hands Off Gretel's merchandise and is responsible for their videos, album artwork and photography.
In just over twelve months, Hands Off Gretel have well and truly made their mark on the UK music scene winning fans in Shirley Manson, Linda Perry and Kate Nash. The band are making an impact on the US too - Alternative Press tipped them as “A band you need to know” and premiered their latest DIY video ‘One Eyed Girl’. The track picked up regular UK airplay from Kerrang Radio and BBC Sheffield Introducing with the video single reached six thousand views in just one week.
The four piece alt rock/grunge inspired band from South Yorkshire are incredibly prolific, they have already released a three track EP, a couple of video singles and their debut album is out in September, funded via their huge and ever increasing international online fan base.
Having already made their mark on the festival circuit playing Camden Rocks and Isle of Wight, Hands Off Gretel will be supporting their album release with a full UK tour planned for Autumn.

Shirley Manson, Garbage
"Hands Off Gretel are a modern riot grunge band, bringing back grrrl power, channeling Courtney Love's attitude, Brody Dalle's grit and Amanda Palmer's lyrical perversity. Their neon video for "My Size" will throw you straight back into the Lisa Frank painted '90s."
Cassie Whitt, Alternative Press
"Despite her diminutive stature, Tate boasted a voice guttural and heavy hitting enough to match Brody Dalle or Courtney Love at their most vicious."
Blue Corner Stone Camden Rocks Festival Review
"Hands Off Gretel is the raucous lovechild of Lauren Tate; a seriously talented woman in spearheading the absolute cutting edge in female rebellion with a fantastic attitude, and, perhaps even more strikingly, an utterly likeable demeanour. She’s sheer passion – sheer, unadulterated and unrestricted passion; built up from a very real love of music and a very real love of audience."

The Killing Floor
Tongue Tied
Outright Rock Records
19 August 2016
Lead Track: Corruption Capital
THE KILLING FLOOR combines the best of British and American rock music and delivers an electrifying blend
of alternative, rock, pop, punk and grunge.
Raw visceral power combines with impassioned melody and accomplished songwriting to draw comparisons to acts like Queens of The Stone Age, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Nirvana.
With members hailing from both sides of the Atlantic, the band came together when brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici from London, had a chance meeting with Marco Argiro at Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios in NYC where they had all been working with hit producer Mark Plati (David Bowie, Cure) on separate projects. Recognising they shared not only a producer but many of the same influences, ideas and attitudes to music, they began writing and recording together and after taking the name The Killing Floor from the Howlin Wolf song, hit the road with their new material, quickly gathering fans and with their blistering show, becoming known as one of the city's best live acts.
The Killing Floor released their debut self-titled album in 2011 which the press described as "an enticing record with mass appeal”, boasting “proficient songwriting”, and an “infectious quality”. The song 'Star Baby' was chosen as the album’s first single, and the band shot their first music video with legendary Hollywood director Joel Schumacher, whose film credits include: 'The Lost Boys', 'Batman Forever', 'A Time to Kill', and 'Flatliners'. The song was featured in MTV programs Road Rules Challenge, The Real World and Best Ink, and received heavy rotation on US radio. In support of this, the band toured throughout the USA, Canada, UK and Europe, taking in events such as CMJ, SXSW, CBGB Festival, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, and Donnington’s Download Festival.
The Killing Floor spent much of last year back in the studios of Brighton England, Nashville and NYC, writing and recording and late 2015 saw the US release of ‘Corruption Capital’ the first single from their second album. The song received rave reviews and extensive rotation on US national commercial rock radio playlists including WBOS, KNDD, KXXR, KNRK and WRKZ to name a few. Pure Volume described the single as "a seamless blend of melody and political rock" and the video was premiered on Guitar World Magazine. The video also gained heavy rotation and was played in all of Journeys shoe stores throughout the USA.
The band showcased at this years SXSW 2016 and will be heading to the UK for the release of their new EP in August followed by an East Coast tour of USA in September to support their eagerly awaited new record "Antisocialmedia". The Killing Floor will also perform at Indie Week Europe 2016 held in Manchester UK in October as winners of Indie Week Canada where they received First Place Best Band at the Toronto festival.
"TKF showed off their professional chops with a clean, perfected sound and lively performance that brought this act to the next level"
Mediazoic.com 2015
"A seamless blend of melody and gritty, political rock."
PureVolume.com 2014
"This track totally rocks the block."
Uber Rock 2014
"It is easy to hear comparisons to bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zeppelin and even the Foo Fighters on this hard rocking debut...These guys give it their all on stage, so if you have any doubts about them after listening to this album, just go check them out and you will be loving this band...The Killing Floor have put out an enticing album here which will appeal to the masses and help them establish a good following in North America and around the world."
Melodic Net
"Built around the arena rock guitar histrionics of brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici, tracks such as 'Temptation' and 'Shout' are custom made for mass appeal...The perfect antidote for anyone experiencing Foo Fighters withdrawal symptoms right now. "

Three Dimensional Tanx
Son of Go
26 August 2016
When it comes to music described as psychedelic or drone-rock, one band have been ploughing this particular furrow for over fifteen years.
Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated new album 'Attack', Three Dimensional Tanx return with an immediately infectious single 'Son of Go', and at just 1 minute 52 seconds long, not a second is wasted in this energetic statement of intent. A driving beat, intricate organ line, huge guitars and a commanding vocal combine to create one of the most memorable and accessible psych tracks of recent years.
The band hold a unique place in the hearts of fans of psychedelia. Stalwarts of the scene, over the course of their career to date the Lancaster/Manchester based Three Dimensional Tanx have been ‘sound carriers’ for Can man Damo Suzuki, performed at Tate Britain with artist Linder Sterling, played at a Spacemen 3 art exhibition at the request of Will Carruthers (Spacemen 3, Spiritualised, Dead Skeletons) and smashed it at 2013’s Liverpool Psych Fest.
Their live reputation is so fierce they managed to draw a full crowd at Liverpool Psych Fest even though their set clashed with Fuzz and Hookworms. The band have also played with the likes of Aquaserge (featuring members of Tame Impala and Stereolab), the Oscillation, Mugstar, Nik Turner (Hawkwind), Trembling Bells, the Lucid Dream, the Cosmic Dead, Helicon, Mind Mountain, Keys, Pusher, Paddy Steer and many more.
Formed in the year 2000, the original line-up of Spacey, Loz, Sean and David recorded two albums and a compilation before former guitarist David Blackwell left to concentrate full-time on the Lovely Eggs. Richard and Pete joined to complete the new five piece line up and Three Dimensional Tanx set about creating new music for a new era.
January 2014 saw the release of a new, eponymous album, with a gig featuring the full album played straight though recorded and released as Three Dimensional Tanx LIVE! in July 2014. New studio album, 'Attack' is released on 29th August 2016, 'Son of Go' is the first single to come from that record.
"‘I Am Go’ has an element of the punkier end of Italian garage acts of the early ’90s and newer Swedish acts like The Movements in its soaring pace, cheese wire organ and distraught vocalisms... The Tanx aren’t aiming at being super sixties or anything - rather, they mix up a number of influences and blast it out."
Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills, Shindig! Magazine
"Even in the studio, the band are able to cook up a pretty vigorous groove, especially on ‘King of the Country’, where organ, bass and drums lock together while a raw guitar is let loose.
You can almost see the hippies digging it in the Avalon Ballroom. In a more relaxed mode, the seven minutes plus of ‘Caterpillar’ moves from a vaguely Indian introduction of tabla and sitar to break into a crisp beat, supporting the interplay of wah-wah and synth and setting up something of a Happy Mondays or Stone Roses feel."
Penny Black Music
"Yes they do psychedelic but they do it differently. They do it with energy. Hard to put into words, a spirit (in my humble opinion) that only those from the Northern part of this country can provide. Juice; life; pep; pizzaz. That buzz in the tummy; cock of the head; jerk as you walk. They don’t need me to sell them to you. They sell themselves. As you may may be able to tell I think they are exciting! I want a Three Dimensional Tanx T-shirt!"
Schott’s List
"A kind of neon psychedelic power pop with really bright, clear tones…when they’re blasting them out hard, fast and dumb they sure do know their way around a pop tune."
Norman Records
"A unique voice in psych; Lancaster’s Three Dimensional Tanx pitch ‘60s swirling keys against garage rock and the Day-Glo end of the punk spectrum. Picture The Saints shooting for the Nuggets crowd. Combine a heady knack for blending energy with melody they have delivered a crisp, taut and exciting album in the same glorious TV21 Technicolor as the cover art."

Animal Noise
How Can You Love Me?
Liquid Records
19 August 2016
Colchester’s Animal Noise release their second single ‘How Can You Love Me?' from their 'Sink or Swim EP' on August 19th 2016, a date that also sees an official CD release of the EP on Liquid Records.
Listen to the Sink Or Swim EP in full here: http://spoti.fi/1UORqzU
The new single 'How Can You Love Me?' with it’s earthy, organic production is described by Josh Sandifer Animal Noise’s lead vocalist: “We wanted to create a sense of intrigue and suspense in the intro of 'How Can You Love Me', it does this but leaves a lot of room to breathe, which makes a change from the way our songs usually take shape. The vocals tear in and occupy this breathing space prominently, the contradictory phrases used in the lyrics are meant to paint a picture of an unhealthy kind of obsession and the accompanying denial. We wanted to leave a lot of space in the chorus between the phrases, the progression between the afro-beating static rhythm behind the main line and the deep pounding floor toms over the gaps does this nicely. Lyrically, it's an overall bleakly themed song but the paradoxically upbeat infectiousness of the music counters this and restores a balance.”
Following the successful completion of their spring tour of the UK, during which they sold out their hometown show at Colchester Arts Centre, Animal Noise are hitting a series of summer festivals. They began this with a blistering show at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park and are also set to appear at Standon Calling, Fling, Ramsbottom and Wilkestock. The festival dates will see them playing their new material which has been picking up love from key tastemakers God Is In The TV, Louder Than War and Jammerzine. The ‘Sink Or Swim’ EP has also enjoyed early radio airplay from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Soho Radio with a healthy momentum building.
Summer Festival Dates:
July 1st - British Summer Time Festival 2016
July 2nd - Fling Festival
July 23rd - Bay Days
July 29th - Standon Calling
July 30th - Swan Fest
July 30th - Scarlet Festival
September 3rd - Wilkestock
September 17th - Ramsbottom Festival
September 18th - Ramsbottom Festival
"[Sink or Swim is] folky at lower volumes and mathy at higher, bringing to mind Biffy Clyro before they went all dad rock. It’s an intriguing little curio of a track that certainly whets the appetite for the EP and more to come"
God is in the TV Zine
"[Sink or Swim] is quick, dirty, soulful and tuneful. It’s good stuff."
Louder Than War
"Elements of folk music, progressive rock, punk, and psychedelic rock interact perfectly with each other to form a unique sonic signature I find captivating! And that's saying nothing of the vocals. Goodness gracious the vocals! They're rife with passion and conviction and the harmonies are superb."
The Ripple Effect
"Baddow blew my socks off. It's a wonderful piece of music, played from beginning to end with such fresh, ferocious energy.”
Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music
"Baddow, it's such a good tune.”
Maryanne Hobbs, Radio X (XFM)

Notes:
Animal Noise are Josh Sandifer on guitars and vocals, Jack Gordon-Abbott on drums and Michael Bird who plays bass and provides backing vocals. Jack and Birdy are from Tiptree close to Colchester, they met at school and have played in bands together since their formative years. Josh is from a small beach village in Suffolk called Waldringfield.
The trio met each other at a house party a few years back after finding a broken guitar with a few snapped strings. At the party Josh starting playing his best rendition of 'Big Love' by Fleetwood Mac to everyone in the kitchen. Later on, Jack and Birdy took Josh aside and said they wanted to make music with him and Animal Noise came into being.
The band practice on a farm in an old converted milking parlour. In the rural setting there is no one around for miles so the band have always been able to write together as loudly as possible and with no time restraints! This has helped the creative flow allowing Animal Noise to spend more time to create without feeling pressured to rush songs to completion.

Prints Jackson (featuring Jim Ward)
Sail on Phaelon
Legion Presents
8 August 2016
One song every month until the day I die.
This is the simple mission statement from UK alt-indie artist Prints Jackson (Kristian C Williams), a mantra that perfectly encapsulates his ongoing project, which is already earning media attention thanks to the consistent quality of the releases over the past three years; thirty songs to date.
Prints Jackson has written music for games, film and television, as well recording and producing for other artists. The free form feel of this project provides him with the opportunity to invite artists to collaborate as well as allowing Jackson to experiment with sounds and genres. The current single 'Sail on Phaelon' sees both these aspects of the project very much in evidence as Jim Ward (At the Drive In, Sparta, Sleepercar) andGabe Gonzalez (Sleepercar) join Jackson on August's track.
'Sail on Phaelon' is huge on melody with an undeniably anthemic chorus, subverted by left field production to create a track that is immediate in its appeal yet reveals more with every listen.
The cover comes from celebrated Welsh artist Richard J Oliver (No Devotion).
Notes:
Prints Jackson topped Virgin Music's list of ‘2014 Innovations in Music’
All releases are, and will always be, free to download from Prints Jackson's online HQ – www.printsjackson.com
The artwork each month is produced by artists from around the world and a new musician collaborates (almost) every month.
James Ward is a self-taught guitarist and pianist, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the band Sparta and co-founder of the seminal post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, which he formed in 1993 when he was 17 years old.

The Crosiers
Wheat to Wire
Sugarwolf
9 September 2016
Lead Tracks: 'Do You Remember', 'Time is Up', 'Low'
Birmingham, Alabama based band The Crosiers are Ben McClellan on vocals, his brother Frank McClellan on vocals, guitars and keys, and Shane Jewell on guitars, keys, bass, and drum programming.
Frank and Ben have been making music together for years. The brothers met Shane when he and Frank played together in a Birmingham based band in the early 2000s, reuniting with him in 2014 to form The Crosiers.
The trio's musical influences range from Queen and Bruce Springsteen to Elliott Smith, Prayer Chain and U2 to create textured, introspective and insightful Alt-Rock. Dense, shimmering guitars underpin visionary lyrics delivered in layers of harmony. The band describe their debut album 'Wheat to Wire' as "the diary of a waking dream, old ghosts calling against a darkening wind.” Brothers Frank and Ben sing taut, earnest vocals over Shane Jewell’s scintillating melody lines to create music that is sometimes menacing and brooding and at other times utterly beautiful.
“Wheat To Wire by The Crosiers is an interesting album blending decades worth of influences into their sonic stew. From the ‘60s British Invasion guitar tone of 'Time Is Up' to the burpling synths of 'The King', there are lots of ideas that are seamlessly sewn together and presented.”

Partisan
Juggernaut
29 July 2016
Partisan formed in Manchester, UK early in 2013. As the name implies they are passionate about their mission to position themselves as serious contenders, taking on the music scene with their punchy, bold and unflinching rock anthems.
Stuart Armstrong (lead vocals and guitar) formed Partisan with Dan Albon (bass) and Rob Jones (drums) when his previous band Six10Repeater disbanded in 2012 - the band earned critical acclaim and commercial success; they were awarded as ‘Best Unsigned Band’ by XFM in 2009, two tracks 'Hearts and Nails' and 'Today Somehow' featured video game Pro Evolution Soccer and the band earned support slots for the likes of Nine Black Alps, Babyshambles, Status Quo and The Damned as well as being championed by BBC 6 Music's Mark Radcliffe and BBC Introducing...but the time was right for something new.
Stuart sees Partisan as a natural progression from Six10Repeater both in style and spirit - innovators of new rock, Partisan underpin hard hitting lyrics with melodic rifts. The release of 'Juggernaut' produced by celebrated writer/musican Mike Bennett (ian Brown, The Fall, Neville Staple) follows the success of the band's last single 'Two Lovers' which saw the boys working with The Charlatans' producer Jim Spencer.
Already making waves in America, the band are playing two iconic venues there this year, New York's Pianos and LA's Whiskyagogo.
