UPDATE: Semi-Tractor Trailer, Humboldt Broncos Bus Collide 15 Dead; 14 Injured

The devastating deadly accident, which occurred Friday, April 6, as the Broncos, a Canadian A Junior League team, were traveling on a routine bus ride to neighboring Nipawan for the beginning of the Hockey playoffs.

The force of the crash imploded the trailer portion of the 18 wheeler, and sheered the front of the bus, separating the vehicle. Pictures from the scene sent out through social media, show the traumatizing damage, which Dr. Hassan Masri, an attending ER physician at Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital who has worked in Syria during intense bombing strikes, said the carnage of the Humboldt Hockey bus accident reminded him of the "devastation caused by airstrikes."

"Last night can only be described as the longest, worst and most tragic night of my career. The images can't be unseen or forgotten, the stories can't be unheard or ignored. Meeting each family and explaining the extent of each injury was nothing short of a painful exercise of cruelty. Families waiting for hours to identify their loved ones and smiling of joy at the idea of a significant injury as long as it meant that their loved one was alive brought chills to my spine," Masri said on FaceBook, which can be read here.

The Royal Mounted Canadian Police have indicated they are still investigating the crash and have ordered the trucking company to cease its operations, until the investigation is complete.
