Beltway Insider: Trump Presents State of the World; North Korea; Merkel Reelected; Mexico City/Puerto Rico

President Donald Trump addresses the United Nations General Assembly this week preaching the same America First campaign that propelled him into office to a world deeply concerned over his brash and unconventional methods of communications and taunting messaging.

According to Gallup, President Trump's job approval, over the past week, increased two percentage points to 40% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness as President decreased three percentage points to 54%.

Trump Addresses The General Assembly

President Donald Trump addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations this week using the time to expound on the notion that the United Nations, while in working order, would benefit greatly from his expertise and be all that it can be if he were given the opportunity to implement his ideas.

Trump did use his time to confirm the foundation of American ideals, those pillars of truth which all Americans, whomever they supported during the most recent election and whether they are happy or saddened by the results, have the inalienable right and that is to life, liberty (freedom) and the pursuit of happiness.

"This week gives our country a special reason to take pride in that example.  We are celebrating the 230th anniversary of our beloved Constitution. This timeless document has been the foundation of peace, prosperity, and freedom for the Americans and for countless millions around the globe whose own countries have found inspiration in its respect for human nature, human dignity, and the rule of law.  As President of the United States, I will always put America first, just like you, as the leaders of your countries will always, and should always, put your countries first," the President said.

Trump continued in what sounded like a State of the Union address and in some ways it is just that a reflection of the interpretation of what he believed he inherited and, as those Heads of State that worked diligently with former President Obama throughout his eight years in office were aware, what he did inherit.

Highlighting to the General Assembly what remains as the singular obstacle to peace throughout the world, The Islamic State and its lone wolves jihadists who at the ping of the cellular phone are prepared to advance the cause of hatred, violence and terrorism.

There is no nation who has not recognized the global coalition formed by President Obama, which 60 nations, joined and remain committed to the foundations, principles, and degrade and destroy methodology set forth in the last administration.

As someone who watches the bottom line and squashes any program where it is thought the United States isn't getting its fair shake, President Trump must be aware that every nation within the coalition has dedicated money and military to build an invincible army to fight and ultimately destroy ISIS.

President Trump also used the time to set the global question of North Korea before the body. Without indicating his ultimate solution he did make sure the members of the General Assembly knew the answer was looming.

North Korea

The war of words between the North Korean President Kim Jong Un, whom President Trump referred to as "Rocket Man," during his General Assembly address has escalated with North Korean President Kim Jong Un referring to the President as a "dotard."

The North Koran President has continued to taunt the surrounding nations with his nuclear power and has remained committed to testing the Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).

"The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.  Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.  The United States is ready, willing and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary.  It is time for North Korea to realize that denuclearization is its only acceptable future.  The United Nations Security Council recently held two unanimous 15-0 votes adopting hard-hitting resolutions against North Korea," the president said.

"No one has shown more contempt for other nations and for the well being of their own people than the depraved regime in North Korea.  It is responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of North Koreans, and for the imprisonment, torture, killing, and oppression of countless more. We were all witness to the regime's deadly abuse when an innocent American college student, Otto Warmbier, was returned to America only to die a few days later.  We saw it in the assassination of the dictator's brother using banned nerve agents in an international airport," the President said.

If this is not twisted enough, now North Korea's reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles threatens the entire world with unthinkable loss of human life.

President Trump has said it is not outside his thoughts to totally destroy North Korea. It is unclear if this statement means the nuclear launch site and military site housing the ICBM's and other sites around the nation or a preemptive strike that will cause a distraction to the government and result in the killing of innocent citizens who are enslaved within their own nation.

The other option which hasn't been discussed was created under former President Bush, when Iran was very close to launching against Israel. Utilizing a similar clandestine method and developing an Olympic Games computer program which can be sent through any number of National Security Agency terminals including the NSA, Mossad, MI5, China, Japan, any nation in the world that remains loyal to the proliferation of nuclear weapons treaty.

At this point, if it weren't for the 3.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred this week near the launching site, which was recorded as a temblor and determined to be an earthquake as no atmospheric gases were detected, it remains unclear if the launch area sustained any damage.

The American people in a recent poll trust Donald Trump less and his General more in making the decision on military action again North Korean. As earthquakes are somewhat outside the President's power the possibility of a natural disaster should not be factored into the equation.

Iran, Syria, Islamic State, al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban

Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, and the day will come when the Iranian people will face a choice.  Will they continue down the path of poverty, bloodshed, and terror?  Or will the Iranian people return to the nation's proud roots as a center of civilization, culture, and wealth where their people can be happy and prosperous once again?

The Iranian regime's support for terror is in stark contrast to the recent commitments of many of its neighbors to fight terrorism and halt its financing.

In Saudi Arabia early last year, I was greatly honored to address the leaders of more than 50 Arab and Muslim nations.  We agreed that all responsible nations must work together to confront terrorists and the Islamist extremism that inspires them.

We will stop radical Islamic terrorism because we cannot allow it to tear up our nation, and indeed to tear up the entire world.

We must deny the terrorists safe haven, transit, funding, and any form of support for their vile and sinister ideology.  We must drive them out of our nations.  It is time to expose and hold responsible those countries who support and finance terror groups like al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban and others that slaughter innocent people.

The United States and our allies are working together throughout the Middle East to crush the loser terrorists and stop the reemergence of safe havens they use to launch attacks on all of our people.

Last month, I announced a new strategy for victory in the fight against this evil in Afghanistan.  From now on, our security interests will dictate the length and scope of military operations, not arbitrary benchmarks and timetables set up by politicians.

I have also totally changed the rules of engagement in our fight against the Taliban and other terrorist groups.  In Syria and Iraq, we have made big gains toward lasting defeat of ISIS.  In fact, our country has achieved more against ISIS in the last eight months than it has in many, many years combined.

We seek the de-escalation of the Syrian conflict, and a political solution that honors the will of the Syrian people.  The actions of the criminal regime of Bashar al-Assad, including the use of chemical weapons against his own citizens -- even innocent children -- shock the conscience of every decent person.  No society can be safe if banned chemical weapons are allowed to spread.  That is why the United States carried out a missile strike on the airbase that launched the attack.

We appreciate the efforts of United Nations agencies that are providing vital humanitarian assistance in areas liberated from ISIS, and we especially thank Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon for their role in hosting refugees from the Syrian conflict.

Venezuela

President Trump also presented his belief behind the crisis in Venezuela and that, he said, is "The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented but that socialism has been faithfully implemented."

He added, "We call for the full restoration for democracy and political freedom in Venezuela."

Closing Remarks

He ended his first State of the World address without mentioned in Russia or Global Warming, Climate Change, The Paris accord or defending the reasons he has become a rouge nation standing against the will of the People and fighting for a legacy for his grandchildren's children so that they will know more green than just the color of money.

Ending his address he added, "So let this be our mission, and let this be our message to the world:  We will fight together, sacrifice together, and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family, for humanity, and for the almighty God who made us all. "

German Chancellor Angela Merkel Wins Unprecedented 4th Term

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been re-elected to an unprecedented 4th term, making her truly the "de facto leader of the EU" as Forbes Magazine once called the former research scientist.

Merkel, who lived to see the unimaginable when the Berlin Wall fell in 1988 and the two Germany's became one unified nation.

Her party, which went into today's election with a near assured victory, saw a surge in Alt-right voters, disturbing for any nation, as the United states has seen an increase in Alt-right movements and violence, and for Germany, whose history includes one of the darkest period in global history of Alt-right movements and violence, the rise is a concern as the Chancellor returns to work.

The most senior ranking member of the G7, Merkel is well respected among her peers even the suspended Russian President Vladimir Putin. Her longtime friendship with François Hollande was marked by the "No Fear" March, when a unified world, 40 nations, stood together along with 2million European citizens marched in Paris denouncing Terrorism and declaring "No Fear."

Merkel, an outspoken advocate of unity in western Europe even with Brexit looming, the EU remains the strong support which will stop the alt-right from rolling through Europe.

Mexico City Earthquake Claims 319; 52 Students killed; Puerto Rico Obliterated

A magnitude 7.1 surface earthquake struck Mexico City, Tuesday, killing 319 and causing widespread devastation, as building, homes, offices and schools, all occupied crumbled as the temblor, which struck on the anniversary of the deadly 1985 quake that killed 10,000, rolled and shook the ground.

Thirty students attending The Enrique C. Rebsamen primary school and eight instructors were unaccountable and presumed dead with another 22 students known dead; 26 students were pulled from the rubble along with four instructors.

The fear of new aftershocks and the massive damage as many builders have still skirted building codes which call for greater earthquake retrofitting structural and non-structural components contributed to the collapse of some newer building and many pre-1985 buildings.

Two strong earthquakes have struck the capital city and the most recent, a 5.7 aftershock striking almost exactly 24 hours after Saturday's 5.8 aftershock, as the death toll continues to rise. Five additional aftershocks, a 4.2 magnitude and a 4.7 magnitude in San Francisco de Mar Mexico followed the 5.7 aftershock this morning, a 4.5 magnitude in Matias Romero and a 4.2 in Asuncion Ixtaltepec, Mexico.

Over the past week an unusual amount of natural disasters have occurred with 140 earthquakes, registering magnitude 4.0  and 39 of those have occurred in Mexico.

Puerto Rico

After Hurricane Harvey, a Category 5, slammed into Houston, Texas bringing with it what was known as a "rain" event and eventually dumping 26 trillion tons of water during its two landfalls from Brownsville Texas to Louisiana with an estimated damage of $70 billion and 83 confirmed deaths.

Following on the heels of Hurricane Harvey, Irma, a Category 5, become known as a wind event, after causing unprecedented damage across the Caribbean nations slammed into the Florida Keys shocking lifelong residents who thought as "Conchs" they could ride it out.

Hurricane Irma broke records throughout its 14 day run as a Category Five and caused widespread and on some nations, total devastation across 18 Island and the United States and has been likened to the after effects of a bomb blast with catastrophic implosion of all structures.

Irma caused an estimated $62.87 billion dollars in damage and is responsible for 102 deaths.

And with both these two overwhelming, shocking, destructive and harmful Hurricanes barely in the rear view, Hurricane Maria, a powerful and intense Category 5 killer storm closed in on Puerto Rico, with a bull eyes and winds at 160mph set for the island nation already suffering in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

The post-apocalyptic damage sustained was traumatizing, deeply distressing, as the powerhouse storm pounding the nation with a vengeance leaving literally no home or anyone untouched.

The damage is substantial, the electrical grids are out, the dam has breached, widespread flooding, limited food supply, and piles of large debris, aluminum roofs wrapped around lights poles, a shocking display of the fury of nature.

Jennifer Lopez has announced she will be donating $1million to the Puerto Rico Recovery Fund.

The Red Cross will accept financial donations earmarked for Puerto Rico. Organizations: United For Puerto Rico, Unidos, The Miami Foundation, All Hands Volunteers, Global Giving Fund, and Concolio will also accept financial donations, water, canned goods, first-responder packets.
