Hackett Mill at Art Basel Miami Beach

Hackett Mill is pleased to present a special solo exhibition of works focusing on David Park's late bather paintings from 1957-1959, before his untimely death at age 49 in 1960. In this period, supported by his wife, Park was able to paint full time: "At last [I] found how to paint. It was a matter of having found my subject matter, which from here on out is going to be bathers, and that's it." These final paintings show Park's confidence in his subject matter and paint handling, the result of a decade of soulful exploration, absolute focus and passionate dedication.
