Beltway Insider: Trump/2T Aid Package, UI Claims, COVID-19 Hammers US, Europe, Cities, Nations Locked Down

President Trump signed an unprecedented two trillion dollars aid package which will provide immediate relief to taxpayers caught up in the governmental mandates to combat the spread and infection of the Coronavirus which has crippled the nation's economy.

The President's job approval rating, according to the website fivethirtyeight.com, which tracked polls of likely or registered voters for the period ending March 28, 2020, increased by 2.6 percentage points to 45.8% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness decreased by 2.4 percentage points to 49.7%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated bi-monthly.

Trump Signs Two Trillion Aid Package; Trump Gaming Business Expected to Profit

After just a few short months from what was the most partisan and divisive House and Senate, the two bodies of elected officials have unified to develop an unprecedented Federal Aid package that, for the taxpayer, in certain income brackets, who has banking information on record with the IRS, will receive an immediate direct deposit.

The package also provides immediate extension on Unemployment benefits and an additional bump of weekly allocations. The package also provides bail outs for many corporations crippled by this pandemic.

Essentially every corporation who has experienced some challenges, legitimately such as the hard hit Hospitality and Restaurant Industry as well as others clearly deserving and others not so deserving such as Boing who was in the middle a catastrophic corporate challenge resulting from their failed 737Max aircraft will be on the receiving end of the bail out. Navient, Sallie Mae and the student loan industry will also receive a nice bonus. Other than the brief respite in interest accrual, student loan borrowers are once again overlooked as big business positions themselves first.

When Trump was elected instead of divesting himself from his corporate holdings, he transferred daily operation management and temporary ownership to his son and other business associate. The casino and hotel industry have also taken a hit as social distancing and CDC guidelines have caused the entire Las Vegas strip to close and other gaming properties followed. It is expected the Stimulus Package will include a bail out for the Trump Organization.

Unemployment Claims Smash 91-year record

The Bureau of Labor Statistics, which has kept records on employment numbers since the stock market crash in 1929, presents some very interesting similarities to the recent skyrocketing unemployment.

In 1929, the year of the great stock market crash which triggered the Great Recession of the 1930's was at 3.2%. For each year following unemployment rose to its highest of 24.9% in 1933. Beginning in 1930 the unemployment rate was still in the single digits at 8.7%. It would be ten years later before the unemployment rate would fall back into the single digits with 9.9% in 1941.

The US entry into World War II caused a dramatic fall in unemployment a single year drop of 5.2% to 4.7%. 1944 was the lowest ever with 1.2% unemployment. It remained in the single digits until September 1982 when it reached 10.1%. During the Great Recession, unemployment reached 10% in October 2009.

March Bureau of Labor Statistics are expected to reach beyond the 91-year record as a record 3.3million Americans filed for unemployment benefits.

COVID-19 Hits First Responders, Military

The coronavirus, the silent killer among us, has begun to target those men and women in uniform, those whom every nation relies and remains dependent upon. In addition to recent deaths in the NYPD, more than 200 officers alone are infected.

The Theodore Roosevelt, a warship in Guam, has reported at least two dozen soldiers stationed on the aircraft carrier have tested positive for the coronavirus and the ship has been sidelined, "setting pier side in Gum as the entire crew, more than 5,000, is tested."

"The U.S. Pacific Fleet commander, Adm. John Aquilino, said in an Associated Press interview late Thursday that it's not clear how long the Roosevelt will be kept in Guam and that its schedule will be adjusted "as needed." He said no infected sailor is a "critical health risk" but some have been hospitalized. The carrier, like other Navy ships, is vulnerable to infectious disease spread given its close quarters. The massive ship is more than 1,000 feet long; sailors are spread out across a labyrinth of decks linked by steep ladder-like stairs and narrow corridors," reported the Associated Press.

This, of course, is the first outbreak reported on a confined vessel, which provides additional insight in community spread. All military vessels are in direct violation, by necessity, of all CDC guidelines, which creates the potential of a widespread and massive outbreak within the deployed and ship bound members of the military.

New York and the Pollination Factor

New Yorker's and long been known to take the short flight to Miami, or other parts of the Sunshine state to escape the harsh winters, relocate due to the warm weather and tax haven the state provides, or just a quick jaunt for a weekend getaway.

Unfortunately, as new rules are mandated, the psyche of many is still escape the harshness of what has become a cruel spring, and hop the flight south which has inadvertently become associated with the spread of the Coronavirus to the heavy populated senior communities.

President of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness Offers Don’ts and Dos on Coronavirus

Just a few short weeks ago, the annual right of passage trip for many northern college students landed them in the middle of every media report and admonition of Trump's top medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The exposure and infection rate of spring breakers has not been documented, although the spread in Florida is now being credited to New Yorker's looking to escape the scare, spread and contamination rate in what has become the epicenter in the United States.

Like bees who travel from flower to flower gathering pollen, those well-intentioned travelers could carry the Coronavirus to the more than 20million people aged 60 and over residing in Florida and it goes without saying, this action could cause scenes like are seen daily in Italy.

Hazmat Suits Bridge Medical Supply Shortage

The gross lack of medical supplies needed by the nation's first line soldiers in this momentous battle against the spread and containment of the coronavirus has become the subject of anguish and frustration as each densely populated metropolis becomes the next epicenter.

The need for ventilators, which will top more than 1million in the next days and weeks, masks, gowns, and other protective gear, has become a trouble spot for the United States and member nations of the world most advanced economies, who are all struggling to provide PPE gear to hospitals, first responders, military and those who have positioned themselves on the front line of this fight.

With many of the nations hidden medical storage facilities running dangerously low, the possibility of Hazmat suits bridging the gap until the President Trump invokes the clause in the Defense Production Act which allows him to direct factories to manufacture supplies to combat the exposure and deaths of the front line workers.

In addition to the ventilator production which unfortunately has become typical of in triplicate paperwork and has become bogged down in too many desiring to run the show. With GM on board with leader Ventec, a start-up which has become thrust into the public eye, ventilator production should reach 40,000 per week.

3M should have been the first manufacturer to be directed to create a third shift of dedicated N95 mask production.

As it has become dire for our front line, the possibility of government issued Hazmat Suits, used to reduce contamination of crime scenes and other bio-hazard chemical needs may be in full surplus and could be a bridge in the gap of medical supply.

American manufacture Dupont, Tyvek, and Tychem, could also be directed to manufacture Hazmat suits under the War Powers Act. Unfortunately, individually, to order there is an eight to ten-week delay.

European Nations Impose Stiff Penalties for Lockdown Violations

In hard hit Italy, the lockdown will extend until at least April 3, and is expected to continue for an additional two weeks until the Coronavirus spread can be halted. The government has imposed fines up to $3,500 (US) to anyone caught violating the lock down orders.

Forty-three nations across Europe has taken drastic measures to combat the spread and infection of the coronavirus, including immediate quarantines upon entry to stopping all incoming and international flights. Many include stay at home protective measures.

A breakdown of all European nations and the restriction recently added or in place can be found here.

Italian Scientist Claims Unknown Virus Arrived in Italy in Q3 2019

Giuseppe Remuzzi, director of the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan, provided researchers with critical clues as to why Italy seems to be the epicenter of Europe and why the virus is holding on with a death grip.

"The coronavirus that causes Covid-19 may have spread beyond China before the health authorities had even discovered the disease, according to the Italian professor who recently said there had been "very strange pneumonias " in Europe as early as November last year. The comments by Giuseppe Remuzzi, were made during an interview with US National Public Radio last week were quickly seized upon in the increasingly acrimonious blame game between Washington and Beijing," South Morning China Post reported.

His comments, which are finally receiving the attention deserved, present the foundation for a timeline that has been debated by many who are looking to find Case Zero which has now contradicted the proposed date provided by the Chinese government.

The first case the Chinese government has presented as the possible "Case Zero" now dates back to November 2019.

Remuzzi explains in the interview identical symptoms now common with the coronavirus were reported in northern Italy in November and December on 2019. He further discussed possible reasons the virus has presented such a challenge. "He discussed the difficulty of combating a disease that people did not know existed, and said the unusual cases in November and December could mean that virus was already circulating in Lombardy, the country's worst-hit region, before people were aware of what was unfolding in Wuhan," South Morning China Post reports.

Prince Charles, Heir to the British Throne, Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Prince Charles, 71, heir to the British throne, has tested positive for the coronavirus, and has been quarantined. From all reports he is doing well and is overwhelmed with the continuous messages of support and well wishes. His wife, the Duchess of Cornwell, tested negative.

Queen Elizabeth, 93, and Prince Philip, 98, both in the highest risk demographic, have been in isolation at Windsor Castle. Recent news is that a Royal footman, who attended the Queen, has tested positive for the virus.

Prince William his wife, Kate, and three children are in self-isolation.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also tested positive.

India Late to Impose Lockdown Causes Global Concern

On March 24, 2020 India's Prime Minister announced in a detailed press release information regarding the pandemic and the necessity of more formidable actions as the virus bears down upon his nation, with more than 1.3billion people.

The response, while strong, is months behind the Asian response and weeks behind European response.

Former President of Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Urges FDA Approval of Hydroxychloroquine to Fight COVID-19

"In view of the current situation, this lockdown in the country will be for 21 days. The next 21 days are of great importance for us. As per health experts, a period of at least 21 days is critical to break the infection cycle of Coronavirus. If we are not able to manage these 21 days, the country and your family could be set back 21 years. If we are not able to manage these 21 days, several families will get devastated forever," the Prime Minister said.

His efforts will hopefully produce sustained and effective results. And the truth is the delay will likely cause this nation with a deeply vulnerable orphan and street population to be hard hit.
