President Obama Preps for Upcoming State of the Union Address

President Barack Obama, in his annual State of the Union address, this week, will highlight to the American people the successes, fiscal failures, bi-partisan challenges and his blueprint for the coming year.

The President, as the health of the union has steadily improved over the past twelve months, should have no trouble keeping the speech on topic without interjecting the standard bearers of the Democratic Party as memory markers to keep the American public on a sedated and happy track.

The nearest predictor to the President’s remarks to the full chamber, which includes the Joint Chiefs, Supreme Court Justices and honored guests, should be the pre-holiday media grilling he received during the final press conference of 2013 in which a myriad of issues ranging from jobs and other economic indicators of an improving economy, the Debt Ceiling, Government Shut Down, Domestic and Foreign Relations, National Security and the revelation of the NSA leaks.

Although it is doubtful the president will recycle his 2013 speech, he may use the graphics to further drive home his message of an ever improving economy, touting job creation which has resulted in a significant drop in unemployment, the first real milestone in sixty months.

The President’s banner announcements and proclamations should be the success, even with the disastrous rollout that he labeled a “dismal failure,” of ObamaCare and one would imagine honored guests will include those who have lived a lifetime without medical insurance.

There are still deep recesses in the economy and the President’s plummeting popularity numbers, like the current polar vortex, has sent a deep chill throughout much of the population.

The GOP response will be delivered by U.S. House Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington, the highest ranking women in the House and the first Republican woman to ever deliver the State of the Union response, which will be televised live following the President’s speech.

Tea Party Senator Mike Lee of Utah will also be presenting a rebuttal to the President’s speech which will also be televised after Rep. McMorris Rodgers from the National Press club in Washington D.C.

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul will also provide rebuttal to the President speech with a videotape that will appear on YouTube.

President Obama’s fifth State of the Union address is scheduled for 9:00PM, Tuesday January 28, 2014.

US-Russia Talk on Olympic Security Concerns, Syria and Snowden

President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke this week on Syria, Edward Snowden and the security of the world’s athletes as the XXII Winter Olympics are quickly approaching.

The two presents discussed “how best to advance shared U.S.-Russian interests, including a safe and secure Sochi Olympics, for which the United States has offered its full assistance,” according to an official readout of the President’s call with his Russian counterpart.

Sochi Security, which is a concern for all the estimated 2500 athletes and their families, is only one of the issues facing Russia as the eyes of the world begin examining the policies of the communist country.

Volgograd, Russia, the site of the most recent twin terrorist attacks, carried out by female suicide bombers left at least two dozen dead and scores injured, is approximately 620miles from Sochi’s Olympic Village.

The Sochi Olympics, with 88 participating countries, are becoming more than a test of will, endurance and training, as international polices, security concerns, and same-sex activists are expected to overshadow the traditional non-political arena.

Vladimir Putin has declared that the Olympic Games in Sochi will be "the safest Olympics in history" despites Russia's ban on "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations" and various credible security concerns that Islamist Jihadist groups may attack Sochi.

Syria and Bashar Al-Assad

The President’s also spoke on a range of bilateral and global issues.

The two “discussed the situation in Syria, including preparations for the Geneva II conference and the ongoing international program to remove and destroy Syria’s chemical weapons.”

The international community has continued to issue outrage over the use of Chemical weapons by Assad who has again become the global focus as pictures surfaced at the World Economic Forum in DAVOS, of deeply disturbing images which allegedly additional proof of his reign of terror.

Secretary of State John Kerry said, “Assad is not ready to step down or work with transitional government.”

It seems unlikely that Assad, even with the United National General Assembly hearing the evidence and voting to enforce U.N. sanctions, will agree to leave his country.

President Putin has stated in the past, that he has “fulfilled” a military deal that sent the dictator arms and stressed Russia is not supplying Assad with weapons to maintain its war against the freedom fighters.

Syria is armed with Russian Fighter Planes and is supported with weapons from Iran and ground troops from the Hezbollah military.

Edward Snowden

The White House has not issued any new statements or changed its previously stated opinion on the NSA leaker whom they describe as a fugitive.

All previous statements, including those that encourage the 30 year-old to avail himself to the United States judicial process and face any charges that may result from his role in the theft and revelation of sensitive and secret information is presently the formal opinion.

Snowden has denied allegations of spying and said any return to the United States is currently impossible.

The Russian government has made it clear the NSA leaker and temporary citizen is welcome to stay in Russia for as long as he likes and will not force him to engage in any talks with representatives from the United States.

President Creates White House Sexual Assault Task Force

President Obama announced the formation of a White House Task Force on Protecting Students from Sexual Assault as he and senior cabinet members address the issue of sexual violence that has become common on college campuses.

“Sexual assault is an affront to our basic decency and humanity,” the President said as he brought the taboo subject to the forefront using his weekly address to explain to the American people his determination to see real change in society and the law.

In order to end the barbaric brutality of sexual violence the President said “that we will keep taking actions like strengthening the criminal justice system, reaching out to survivors, and changing social norms so that all Americans can feel safe and protected as they pursue their own piece of the American dream.”

With an “estimated 1 in 5 women sexually assaulted at college” college campuses are the focus as the task force moves ahead.

With the president moving forward bringing sexual violence into the open, especially as his task force focuses on colleges, he faces university’s that have long overlooked sex crimes and have even refused to discipline athletes, fraternities and even contributed to career assassination often faced by females who do report the crimes.

Statements such as “I raped her like she was my girlfriend” spoken by a junior law firm associate describing his lifetime pattern of raping every “girlfriend” or as filmed in “Brave Miss World” a group of Yale University fraternity recruits loudly chanting in military fashion, “No means Yes; Yes means Anal.”

"We need to keep saying to anyone out there who has ever been assaulted: You are not alone. We have your back. I’ve got your back," President Obama said on taking action to end sexual assault

As much as the president states that he and public officials responsible for prosecuting will be there to assists victims, the trickledown effect is not present.

Judicial officials lack the sensitivity training necessary to properly deal with the avalanche of victims and victims find it easier to absorb the assault and move on than to face the additional torture, career assassination and harsh brutality of the “you really wanted it” system.

United States and P5+1 Partners Respond to Iranian Action

During President Obama’s telephone conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin the two also “discussed U.S.-Russian cooperation in the P5+1 process on Iran and the start this week of implementation of the Joint Plan of Action, which will halt progress on Iran’s nuclear program and roll it back in key respects.”

The “International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran has taken the initial specific steps it committed to on or by January 20th, as part of the Joint Plan of Action between the P5+1 (the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, and China, coordinated by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton), and Iran.  As a result, implementation of the Joint Plan of Action will begin today,” said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney in a released statement.

As Iran continues to meet its obligation in dismantling its nuclear program the P5 +1 Partners will in turn provide the Iranian government with “modest relief.” The determined relief will initially simply be the lifting of trade or other sanctions with incremental increases as the Iranians continue to meet the pre-arranged and stated objectives.
