US-French Relations Severed

The Biden Administration is attempting to repair the damage inflicted to its oldest European Allie after the announcement of nuclear submarine deal with the Australian government which severed the long-term, $66billion Euro, military defense contract partnership between the French and the Australian government.

"What the French now call a "grave crisis" erupted over the sudden, surprise end to a 2016 contract worth at least $66 billion between France and Australia to build 12 conventional diesel-electric submarines. Instead, Australia signed on with the United States and Britain for eight nuclear powered submarines. France insists it was not informed of the deal in advance," The Associated Press reported.

Statements from the White House have continued to present the deal, as historic, a unifying trilateral deal between the United Kingdom and the Australians to secure the Asian pacific waters, a direct implication that the French submarines are inferior and incapable of monitoring the advancement of the Chinese military into these waters.

A strategic move by the Biden Administration as the French had the 240th Anniversary of the Battle of Capes gala planned in Washington, which administration officials expected the French to just deal with the slight, which cut them out of all aspects of the deal, and carry on, a phrase used often in the United Kingdom.

French Reaction

Outraged at begin blindsided and cut out in its entirety from any aspect of the manufacturing of the submarines, President Macron immediately cancelled the Gala, a move most believed he would not make, and further, he recalled all ambassadors from the United States and Australia.

This is not the first major incidence between the two nations, as the two nations diverged from a united path during the 2003 invasion of the war in Iraq. The relationship was momentarily severed but repaired as history as attested and survived intact throughout the next eighteen years and even flourished under former President Trump.

The nuclear submarine deal facilitated by the Aussies, who appeared to lose confidence in the French ability to manufacture 21st century weaponry, set up a situation that appeared to be part of the calculated scenario, and while disruptive, momentarily injurious, and economically catastrophic, it would not affect the long-term relationship between the two oldest allies, as the two nations diverged from a united path in the past and regained, rebuilt and moved forward especially in the recent pandemic fight.

Goliath's Rule, Get Over It

While Macron is calling the deal calculated, duplicitous, deceitful, and dishonest, President Biden has instructed his team to reach out to the president to set up a phone call.

The Associated Press reported, "The phone call is at the request of Biden, government spokesman Gabriel Attal said, adding that there was "shock" and "anger" at first. But now it's time to try to move forward, he said,"

The abrupt "get over it" or move forward statement issued by the Biden Administration is typical by goliaths who randomly step on and destroy any person in their path and a signal that Biden's team is confident Macron and the Republic need the friendship and alliance with the United States more than the United States needs the French.

Germany's Angela Merkel Exits

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, 67, who paved her own path in politics after the fall of the Berlin Wall, is leaving politics, after announcing she would not seek reelection, in a decision that surprise.

Merkel, who has been a stalwart of the female European leadership has literally transformed Germany, and consistently been heralded as one of the most powerful women in politics. Born in East Berlin, in a nation surrounded by a concrete barrier, the Berlin Wall, which stopped modernism and remained dedicated to the teachings of Communism, she has been quoted as saying, "The Berlin Wall limited my opportunities. It quite literally stood in my way."

"She was 35 when the most enduring symbol of the Cold War dramatically crumbled. "Where there was once only a dark wall, a door suddenly opened," she said in the speech. "For me, too, the moment had come to walk through that door. At that point, I left my work as a scientist behind me and entered politics. That was an exciting and magical time," The Washington Post reported.

The Chance to Create a New World

Merkel, whose leadership has spanned four U.S. Presidents gained allies in the populous and with female leadership with her strong positions and refusal to be bullied or buried in the global stage of male dominance.

Little known efforts to intimidate her, have surfaced as leaders pause for a moment to reflect on her determination to reshape the geopolitical arena.

"Despite her fear of dogs, Putin once brought his Labrador into a bilateral meeting in what she says was an effort to intimidate her . . . . she has remained staunchly committed to the transatlantic alliance, even as relations became particularly strained under President Donald Trump. In one telling moment in 2018, Merkel's official Instagram account posted a photo showing her bearing down over a table as Trump sat on the other side with his arms folded," reported The Washington Post.

As she leaves office, the divided Germany that she lived under for more than three decades, has become a united Germany, and yet still undergoing tumultuous pains with the rise of fringe groups, the continued threat of Islamic terrorism, Putin's continued expansion threat, as well as the economic instability brought on by the pandemic and the continued influx of immigrants. Her successor, who won't be known until after September 26, may have inherited a powder keg of political, social and economic issues and a playbook to provide the strength to move Germany forward.

USA Gymnasts Testify at Congressional Hearing

Four of the USA Olympic Gymnasts, arrived to testify before a congressional hearing this week, on the failure of the FBI and other governing organizations to stop the decades long abuse of the then team physician Dr. Larry Nassar.

The recent scathing report exposing a universally accepted organization structure that repeatedly allowed pedophiles and other sex offenders to maintain their criminal actions for decades exposed the harboring of internal jurisdictional failure in communicating allegations to all other jurisdictions involved.

"No one at FBI, USAG or the USOPC did what was necessary to protect us," Biles said, referring to USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. "We have been failed and we deserve answers," reported Foxnews.com.

The victims, in this case, include the most decorated females in the sport, elite athletes, who also faced career assassination if they spoke out. Those involved in the United States Gymnasts and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee understood what Nassar was doing and refused to censure, replace, or report him. The prize for the athletes was too great for them to move forward with prosecutions and miss the opportunity they had trained for their entire lives.

The FBI report, which details the beginnings of the investigation at the Indianapolis Field Office, explained how the responding agent in an attempt to cover their own failures fabricated statements made the victim's in order to gloss over the gross incompetence.

"They made entirely false claims about what I said," said Ms. Maroney. "They chose to lie about what I said and protect a serial child molester rather than protect not only me, but countless others." Ms. Maroney said that "talking about this abuse would give me PTSD for days but I chose to speak about it to try and make a difference and protect others." To have it "minimized and disregarded" by the FBI was one of the worst things that had happened to her, she said," reported The Wall Street Journal.

The gymnasts echoed every sexual assault victim's frustration over a system that refuses to acknowledge its blame in the crimes by refusing to consider the facts as presented and failing to investigate and worse by allowing perceived power structures to dictate their efforts.

The nation is failing every victim of sexual assault, every victim of rape, by refusing to enact legislation that demands a DNA database, a registry for every person, and provide federal monies to provide states with personal and power to test the millions of backlogged rape tests.

"Christopher Wray, the director of the bureau since 2017, testified after the gymnasts, as did the DOJ inspector general, Michael Horowitz, who set out the significant sections of his office's report. Mr. Wray apologized for what had happened, saying the FBI had let people down. He described the report's allegations as "beyond the pale." "I was heartsick, I was furious, I was outraged, I was bewildered," Mr. Wray said. "This is not the FBI that I see every single day," reported The Wall Street Journal.

While it may not be the FBI that Director Wray sees every day, it is the same FBI that victims deal with every day. Negate, denigrate, destroy, if victims can survive once the FBI becomes involved they may possibly have a chance at justice.
