President Trump is being credited with "forthright leadership" in the brokering of a five-day cease fire between the Turkish government and the Syrian Kurds who fought along the United States during the ISIS insurgence.

According to Gallup, President Trump's job approval rating, which was tracked for the two week time period ending September 15, 2019, decreased three percentage points to 40.7% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness decreased one percentage points to 53.3%. A slight 6% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated bi-monthly.

Trump Brokers Cease Fire in Syrian "Safe Zone"

President Donald Trump sent Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security advisor Robert O'Brien to broker a cease-fire with the Turkish government and Kurdish rebels to end fighting inside Syrian's northern border.

"Turkey's military offensive is endangering civilians and threatening peace, security, and stability in the region," Trump said in a statement. "I have been perfectly clear with President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan: Turkey's action is precipitating a humanitarian crisis and setting conditions for possible war crimes," the online magazine VOX.com reported.

The tough talking statements made by the President appeared to have some leverage on the decisions as the Turkish President, after meeting with the President's envoy agreed to specific terms for the cease-fire.

Many believe, the Turkish annexation of a "Safe Zone," which infringes on the sovereignty of the Syrian nation will initiate Syrian President Bashar al Assad to direct his military to defend his nation against the aggressors. His main allies, throughout the nine-year civil war, Russian and Iran have yet to speak out on the recent attempts by Turkey to annex land from inside the Syrian border.

Although Turkish President Erodgan, has indicated he will initially use the land to house displaced Syrian refugees, and Kurds, there are doubts the Safe zone will deteriorate sparking another rise of ISIL/ISIS as well as infighting, retaliatory hits making the Safe Zone essentially a Kill Zone.

The United States and Turkey today announced an historic agreement putting an end to a week of hostilities in the border region of Syria:

Turkey is implementing an immediate ceasefire.

The two governments committed to safeguard religious and ethnic minorities.

Both governments are increasing cooperation to help detain ISIS fighters.

Relations between the United States and long-standing NATO ally Turkey have been bolstered.

This agreement is the result of President Donald Trump's forthright leadership over the past week and the successful negotiations in Ankara led by Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien, backed by a team of skilled and dedicated diplomats and military officers.

Turkey has agreed to pause its offensive for 120 hours to allow the United States to facilitate the withdrawal of YPG forces from the Turkish-controlled safe zone.  Turkey has agreed to a permanent ceasefire upon completion of the YPG withdrawal.  The U.S. has already begun to facilitate the YPG withdrawal from the safe zone area.

The Administration laud's President Erdogan's willingness to step forward, agree to a ceasefire, and take this opportunity for resolution.  The two governments are committed to a peaceful safe zone in northeast Syria.

Boris Johnson Brexit Hopes Dashed

Newly elected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced to the world on Friday, the much-delayed Brexit Deal had been ratified, and the stall over unspecified issues had in fact been addressed to everyone's satisfaction.

Hours later, the process which has seen its share of upsets and could be called the destroyer of two former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May, it was announced the Brexit deal was officially suspended. Suspensions usually have a time limit, the Brexit suspension, which has already broken all the rules is open ended.

World News: Boris Johnson, Populism and The Political Reality

As the Members of Parliament remain split perhaps the wisest decision for the new Prime Minister to undertake is a swift referendum.

The reality of the situation can be no clearer for the people of the United Kingdom than it is now. If a new referendum, worded exactly as it was, is announced, and everyone who has an vested interest in the outcome, understanding the gravity of the vote, decides to vote and if the remainders win so be it, if those who prefer to leave win, then so be it. And negotiations pick up exactly where they are now.

It appears that those who secured the leave vote are not confident that it would withstand a second referendum.

Energy Secretary Perry Resigns

Energy Secretary Rick Perry, a one-time Republican Presidential Candidate, has resigned his position as effective immediately departing the Trump administration with a little more than year before the 2020 Presidential Election.

President Trump has nominated Dan Brouilllette to replace Perry. Brouillette served as the deputy energy secretary. Perry, allegedly, was inadvertently drawn into President Trump's Ukraine scandal with suggestion of energy security. He announced his intent to resign shortly after Speaker Pelosi initiated Impeachment hearings.

President Trump used his favorite form of communication sending out two messages via the micro-messaging platform Twitter, "I want to thank Secretary of Energy Rick Perry for the outstanding job he has done. He will be leaving at the end of the year to pursue other interests. Rick was a great Governor of Texas and a great Secretary of Energy.....He is also my friend! At the same time, I am pleased to nominate Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette to be the new Secretary of Energy. Dan's experience in the sector is unparalleled. A total professional, I have no doubt that Dan will do a great job!"

Trump Scrapes Plans for 2020 G7 Summit at Miami Club

The President who had been under intense scrutiny this past week after it was announced the 2020 G7 Summit would be held at his personal Doral Club in Miami, has just taken to twitter and posted an update regarding that decision.

"Based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020," the president tweeted. "We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!"

A Different Kind of Force – Policing Mental Illness

Trump who filed his re-election notice on the day he took office, January 20, 2017, faced intense scrutiny as he recently attempted to smear his chief rival former Vice President Joe Biden by insisting his son, Hunter Biden received employment with a Ukrainian company while his father held the Vice President position.

Hunter Biden has since resigned, and Presidential Candidate joe Biden has addressed the accusations. Trump and his family, although acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney had indicated they would not be any availability to profit off the upcoming 2020 summit, with the many events associated with this type of international summit an equal number of veins arise which could lead to profit for the First Family.

Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings has Died

House of Representative Elijah Cummings died this week, it was announced. The long-time democrat who district included Baltimore, recently was a target of President trump's wrath of the living conditions of the elder stateman district.

Cummings "a sharecropper's son who rose to become a civil rights champion and the chairman of one of the U.S. House committees leading an impeachment inquiry" according to the Associated Press died at John's Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore Maryland from complications from long standing health issues.

Cummings, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee leading the investigation into the president and his family, held his Congressional seat since 1996. Speculation has already begun as to who will run to fill the vacancy with his spouse, Maya Rockeymoore, expected to announce her intent.

Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, spoke on Mr. Cummings while he led a White House Press conference, "First thing's first: I want to comment very briefly on Mr. Cummings's passing.  For those of you who know, I was in Congress for a couple years with Mr. Cummings, and — on the committee with him.  I had a chance to work with him on a day in, day out basis.  And he will be missed.  He was — he was a classy guy, and I enjoyed much working with him.  And the condolences from my family and all of the White House group to his family today.  He will be — he will be sorely missed."

Funeral arrangements for Cummings will be held this week in his district.

Election 2020 – Democratic Hopefuls Go on the Offensive

What appears to be the pack of democratic hopefuls vying for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States squared off, again his week, in what can only be described as a lively debate on a dead horse issue.

Hosted by CNN and The New York Times, the candidates began by congratulating Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) on his speedy recovery from a recent heart attack. The unfortunate timing of the medical issue didn't appear to cause any ripples among his colleagues. The voters have yet to be tested.

The biggest issue of the evening was "Free Health Care For All" plan proposed by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. Her plan, which has yet to be fully laid out, is more akin to the golden carrot. Not that she will mysteriously pull the carrot away should she be elected.

Op/Ed: Medicare For Bernie and The Absentee Father

The issue is the Affordable Care Act. The Insurance program created under the Obama Administration. Former President Obama built a Health care program that addressed the needs of every American and has survived two Supreme Court challenges only to be upheld and challenged even under the tyrannical Trump administration and remained essentially intact.

Attempting to rebuild a Healthcare program already in place is akin to destroying the Southern Border wall after spending nearly $36.6 Million dollars of diverted funds to create it. No democrat wanted the wall and it is safe to say no democrat will lead the charge to destroy the wall as the party will become the target of criticism and backlash.

The Wall, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint is here to stay. The Affordable Care Act, like it or not, and I know many, including Haute-Lifestyle.com frequent contributors, Marilyn M. Singleton, M.D., J.D., and President of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, and Dr. Jane Orient, M.D. and Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), and President of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness who are both vocal opponents. However, the Affordable care Act, like it or not is here to stay.

The issue in both cases is modifying the already standing policy to accommodate our newest, brightest and better ideas. Pitching to the American Public a new, all new, brand new, free for all healthcare program is closer to a slight of hand especially without adding the cost will be.

Adding a 1% Wealth Tax may work when the goal is to eradicate the trillion dollar student loan debt but pitch the tax and explain the goal is to modify the ACA, that President Obama created, and see how fast the funding from the 1% departs.

The debates, which traditionally are to introduce the candidate and their position to the American public could better be used to present serious social crisis that affects every city, every town, in America. Wages (and with this more than simply jobs, employment that addresses the "underemployed" demographic that does not register on the Bureau of Labor Statistics), affordable housing, and homelessness.

Tulsi Gabbard Steps into A Hornet's Nest

Tulsi Gabbard Steps into the ring with Donald Trump spouting his rhetoric for him as she fires back at a Hillary Clinton Tweet which accused the 2020 Presidential Candidate of begin "groomed" to be a Russian asset."

The former combat veteran who currently holds the rank of Major in the Army National guard fired back at the 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee, stating "You, the queen of the warmongers, embodiment of corruption and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain."

Gabbard who has set herself against her government on other occasions, drew support from other members of the thinning pack of democratic hopefuls.

"Her decision to meet Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and expressions of skepticism about his use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Civil War attracted controversy," according to Wikipedia. This decision, which showed support for the heinous action of Assad and hi murderous regime has been criticized by all and labeled as treasonous attempts to violate US counterintelligence policy and speak with known enemies of the US.

Sanders Nabs Early Endorsements

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (MI) have come out early officially endorsing Senator Bernie Sander (D-VT) for President. The surprisingly early endorsement may create a surge for the candidate as he continues to gain momentum replicating his 2016 bid. The expected outcomes of the early decision states have Sanders and Warren dividing the vote in New Hampshire which creates a possibility of a Biden victory.
