Dumpster Diving Saturday Night Live Mocks Germanwings Tragedy

Proving the end is near, the National Broadcasting Company's once dominate Saturday Night Live dove deep into the dumpster of cheap laughs headlining with a sketch lampooning the CNN coverage of Germanwings airliner that crashed into the French Alps killing all onboard.

Hosted by Michael Keaton, SNL cast members joked, ridiculed and mocked the CNN coverage of the co-pilot led murder suicide.

SNL famous for sophomoric humor sank to new lows with the sketch that taunted and teased the family members showing no respect for the gravity of the situation or loss of life.

With the exception of September 11, 2001, the perennial variety show has a no holds barred regarding all subjects no matter how sensitive, tasteless, or injurious to family members, friends, loved ones or other or in this case who haven’t yet held funerals for the dead.

One would think SNL at 40 could exhibit some signs of strength instead of chasing its youthful heyday with meaningless and tiresome attempts resulting in unfeeling, uncaring and thoughtless parodies or dumpster diving into satirical, sarcastic and acerbic attempts at recently aired comedy.

Loren, it is okay to grow up and present smarter, not harsher, humor.
