Marvel Comics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures recently hosted a special screening for the LA Media of the hugely anticipated high voltage The Amazing SpiderMan at the AMC Theaters in Century City, California.

Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing SpiderMan, a mega watt wild swinging ride, jumps from the screen with all the intensity of a sizzling summer  electrical storm.

The Amazing SpiderMan, a Marvel Comics Super Hero, is based on characters created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and takes the audience into the life of young Peter Parker, a high school news photographer, who takes a stand against sensationalism only to find that honor has no place in contemporary society.

Stepping into the franchise for the first time is Andrew Garfield (Eduardo Saverion, The Social Network) as Peter Parker, as this Spider-Man is a prequel, the love interest is filled by Emma Stone (The Help) who portrays his high school classmate, Gwen Stacy, the daughter of NYPD tough Cop, George Stacy, played by Denis Leary who personifies a tough NYPD tossed into an impossible case.

Martin Sheen and Sally Field are cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man’s, blue collar Uncle Ben and his wife, Aunt May and both give exceptional performances as one would expect. Rhy Iflan doubles at Dr. Curt Connors, a genetic scientist performing cutting edge regeneration experiments, and Spider-Man’s nemeses, The Lizard.

The Amazing Spider-Man is produced by Avi Arad, Matthew Tolmach and Executive Produced by Stan Lee and Michael Grillo. James Horner composed the score. The Amazing Spider-Man was written by Alvin Sargent, Steve Kloves and James Vanderbilt who seem to have captured every New York nuance with ease. The dialogue is razor sharp, intelligent and snaps with wit and humor.

Seeing The Amazing Spiderman in I-MAX 3-D the special effects bounced from the screen crackling with energy, power and strength and yet, The Amazing Spiderman is more than phenomenal VFX, there is a genuine emotional storyline weaved throughout that produces moments fused with passion, grief, sorrow and love all fueled by superior, top of the line, performances from all.

The Amazing Spider-Man has all the out-of-this-world special effects, scientific intrigue and emotional connections that create a summer BLOCK BUSTER!!

The Amazing Spider-Man opens July 3, 2012!
