Saban Films Acquires StudioCanal's "King Of Thieves" Directed By James Marsh Starring Sir Michael Caine And Jim Broadbent

Saban Films has taken U.S. distribution rights to Academy Award® Winner James Marsh's (The Theory of  Everything) King of Thieves starring Academy Award® Winner Sir Michael Caine (The Quiet American), Academy Award® Winner Jim Broadbent (The Iron Lady).

"King Of Thieves" Academy Award® Nominee Sir Tom Courtenay (45 Years), Golden Globe® Nominee Sir Michael Gambon (The King's Speech), BAFTA Nominee Ray Winstone (The Departed), and Charlie Cox ("Daredevil").

Working Title Films' Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produced alongside Michelle Wright and Ali Jafaar, with STUDIOCANAL financing. King of Thieves will be released in Q1 2019.

Written by Joe Penhall and based on source material from Mark Seal's Vanity Fair article and The Guardian'sveteran crime reporter Duncan Campbell, the drama revolves around the April 2015 Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Company burglary in which robbers allegedly stole over £14 million worth of loot in the biggest heist in UK history.
