Denver Film Society and Denver Arts & Venues Announce Lineup For Prince Tribute

Denver Film Society and Denver Arts & Venues announced today the lineup for the Prince tribute at the Film on the Rocks season opener of Purple Rain on Thursday, May 12, 2016 and will include performances from multiple Denver-based artists.

The show will begin with a poem by Denver-based spoken word artist, Suzi Q Smith, over 10 local bands will pay homage to the artist before the show, including an all act finale of "Purple Rain."

When: Thursday, May 12, doors open at 6:15 p.m., local all-star Prince tribute begins at approximately at 7 p.m. and film begins at dusk.

Film on the Rocks Season Opener and Special Tribute to Prince Lineup:

Nathan Lund  and Stephen Agyei will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Prince Tributes concerts will also include Poet, Suzi Q. Smith, Flobots, Denver Gay Men's Chorus, Ian Cooke Band with Kevin Johnson of The Bright Silence, Elin Palmer and members of Chimney Choir, Bluebook, Shady Elders, Wheelchair Sports Camp, Andy Rok and the Real Deal, Qbala, Plume Varia, Dragondeer, Heavy Heavies.
