THE NEW YORKER Presents, a Unique Film Series, Based on Content from the Pages of the Award Winning Magazine

Based on content from The New Yorker, America's most award-winning magazine, The New Yorker Presents is a unique viewing experience, combining documentaries, short scripted narrative films, comedy, poetry, animation and cartoons.

As with the pilot, new episodes will bring the pages of the magazine to life, drawing upon the reporting, fiction, humor, poetry, and cartoons that distinguish The New Yorker.  

The season will feature content from award-winning narrative directors and A-list talent from the worlds of film, television, art, and music, and will debut provocative and insightful documentary films from America's most acclaimed non-fiction filmmakers.

The series is produced by Condé Nast Entertainment and Jigsaw Productions. The series is Executive Produced by David Remnick, Alex Gibney, Kahane Cooperman, Dave Snyder, Michael Klein, Dawn Ostroff, and Henry Finder.

Episodes 1, 2 & 3 featuring shorts from Alex Gibney, Steve James, Robert Pulcini & Shari Springer Berman (and much more) are currently available on Amazon PRIME.

Episodes 4 & 5 of Amazon's newest series THE NEW YORKER PRESENTS featuring the work of filmmakers Roger Ross Williams, Lucy Walker and more will be available Tuesday, February 23rd on Amazon PRIME. 

Director/ Executive Producer Alex Gibney, Showrunner/ Executive Producer Kahane Cooperman ("The Daily Show with Jon Stewart") and New Yorker Editor David Remnick will be available for press in NYC on Tuesday, February 9th 

THE NEW YORKER PRESENTS will debut on Amazon on Tuesday, February 16 with additional episodes following each week into March.

Episode 4

* "The Man Without a Mask": Filmmaker Roger Ross Williams (God Loves Uganda; Life, Animated) profiles Cassandro, the flamboyant gay star of Mexican wrestling.

* "Symbols and Facts: Guns, Cars, and America": An essay by writer Adam Gopnik

* "Brazenhead, C'est Moi": For years, Michael Seidenberg operated a secret bookstore in a Manhattan apartment building. Then he got an eviction notice.

* Cartoons by Roz Chast and Farley Katz.

* "Around Town" visits a class for aspiring taxidermists.

Episode 5 – The Food Episode

* "Wolvesmouth": Filmmaker Lucy Walker (The Crash Reel) profiles renegade chef Craig Thornton. His invitation-only supper club, Wolvesmouth, is one of the toughest dinner reservations in Los Angeles.

* "The Fried Chicken King of Harlem": Chef Charles Gabriel, of Charles Country Pan Fried Chicken, is an uptown institution.

* "Couple's First Dinner Party, Serves Six": The recipe for a dinner party gone wrong. Adapted from a story by Hallie Cantor; teleplay by Janicza Bravo and Brian Savelson; directed by Janicza Bravo; starring Tunde Adebimpe, Jon Daly, Brett Gelman, Alia Shawkat, Hannah Simone, and Michaela Watkins.

* "Reincarnation": A poem by Ellen Bass, animated by Jeff Scher.

* Cartoons by Roz Chast and Benjamin Schwartz.

* "Around Town" visits Black Ant, an East Village restaurant where some dishes may include insects – on purpose. 

New episodes of THE NEW YORKER PRESENTS premiere every Tuesday through March 15th, 2016.
