“Delighted to hear about the Experts’ Choice 2019 Award, being voted one of the top destinations in San Francisco based on 1.5 million reviews - especially on the eve of our 23rd anniversary! This is an incredible testament to our dedicated staff and our mission to protect and conserve the Bay,” says President and CEO George Jacob.

Aquarium of the Bay, an institution of Bay Ecotarium, celebrates its 23rd anniversary tomorrow, commemorating the journey of the Aquarium from a for-profit facility named UnderWater World in 1996 to its merger with The Bay Institute in 2006 that resulted in the formation of bay.org.

For almost 23 years, Aquarium of the Bay has served the San Francisco Bay Area community and provided free education programs to over 30,000 school children annually.
