Michael Flynn, National Security Adviser, Resigns (Letter Included); Exposing Trump’s Missteps and Misplaced Loyalties

The resignation of Michael Flynn, the newly appointed National Security Adviser, in reality, is probably the only move recommended by the Trump Administration that reminds the world that even in Trumpland some old school rules still apply.

Vice President Pence, the silent partner of the Trump administration, when necessary becomes the authoritative, reliable front man and dodges the media bullets, of which there have been many, and President Trump rewards his loyalty with loyalty.

The Lesson of Loyalty

The lesson of loyalty is one that is sorely needed in the America public; as a collective the American people are not loyal to each other, to organizations we profess our allegiances; we willingly make pledges knowing if the opportunity arises we will quickly and without reservation turn our backs on the very loyalty we profess.

The absence of loyalty, which should be one of the strongest bindings as it crosses professional behaviors, personal lifestyles, and religious devotion, encompassing for some varying degrees of the three or all.

For the Trump Administration, VP Pence is trusted, loyal and remained loyal, through the natural progressive mudslinging which is common and a part of campaigning, through the most damaging revelations, never voicing possible reservations, maintaining his loyalty. Trump repaid him.

The Split Loyalties of Michael Flynn

Michael Flynn, over the 21 days of his short-lived tenure, made one fatal flaw which can be common for a person who is remembered by some for creating ambiguous facts so much so that his subordinates often referred to his version of events as “Flynn Facts.”

It would seem like the perfect fit for this White House.

Unfortunately, Flynn didn’t realize the hierarchy of relationships and made the determination that his relationship and position to the president was more valuable and of greater importance than a few embarrassments the VP may suffer.

Donald Trump Wins The Presidency In A Shocking Upset

The Trump Administration saw it differently. Flynn’s past relationship with Russia had always been at the crux of the situation. His positions and beliefs in the strength of enemies of the United States matched the positions of the administration. Aggressively evangelizing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats spelled deep trouble for the retired Army Lieutenant General.

Preaching the strength of the Islamic State, the Syrian Insurgency, and the instability in the region and the weakness of the United States defense in comprehending the widespread threats and opportunities for attacks.

A lesson that the military general failed to learn throughout his career was crossing Uncle Sam will lead to swift and permanent action. Flynn’s determination to revel the strength of the Islamic State explaining the United States was more vulnerable today the pre 9/11 was met with decisive action.

The criticisms of the Obama Administration weak foreign policy in handling the Islamic State is not limited to a retired general who continued his rants after chosen by Donald Trump to be a part of his upcoming White House campaign.

Many publications, with liberal and conservative leanings, challenged the former president on his Syrian and Islamic State policies especially as he and the world watched Americans, and citizens from allied nations, beheaded without apparent concern.

Throughout his post military career, Flynn had many dealings with the Russians, even to the point of appearing regularly on a television program “Russia Today,” the state owned English language media outlet.

Flynn was one of the more regular guests, serving after retirement as a guest analyst. The most damaging evidence in Flynn’s current trouble came as he accepted a fee for a speech given at the Russia Today banquet in which he was seated beside Russian President Vladimir Putin at dinner along with other prominent Presidential candidates.

While the money was defended, the loyalty was not. Flynn had developed a close relationship with Putin and other Russian officials. So much so that during the 2016 election, Flynn was responsible for spreading damaging, false and critical fake news regarding democratic challenger Hillary Clinton.

Additionally, through the campaign his Clinton hate rhetoric was so strong, his performance at the Republican National Convention became the cornerstone of the severely damaging rhetoric that lead the public to believe Clinton was a “dirty” politician and should be “locked up.” His “lock her up” chant carried through to following debates and led the charge that Clinton, whom Putin knew quite well and knew also what a Clinton administration would mean for his country and future plans, is a criminal.

Flynn, of course, apologized after the fact as the Flynn Facts verses the realities were chalked up to mudslinging politics not the brainwashing techniques of a foreign government who desperately needed the Trump-Pence team to win the presidency.

Post-election landed Michael Flynn in the prime position to direct the administration while maintaining his split loyalties.

His admission of falsely presenting a thorough and complete briefing of his conversations with the Russian Ambassador due to time constraints leads the letter and is the foundation for his resignation.
